Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Why you should choose male Eivor – How to change genders & more!

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is now available for all consoles, including the Xbox Series X.

Much like with Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, players can choose between a male and a female Eivor.

However, many players have been asking which gender they should play as throughout the game, wishing to follow the canon.

Here’s why we think you should play the game as a male Eivor.

Male Eivor in Valhalla

Whilst the canon selection is not Male Eivor in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, you may have the most fun playing as him.

MALE OR FEMALE: Players can choose between a male and female Eivor

Many fans have already taken to Twitter asking which version they should play as, and the female version seems to be established as canon.

As well as this, the Let the Animus choose option seems to be defaulting to the female option, and only chooses the male Eivor for mythical worlds.

As such, we believe players would have fun playing as the male Eivor, as they would be experiencing the game in a different way than many other players!

Similarly, for those wishing to play as a male Eivor, you will be playing the game as you saw in the trailers.

The trailer really helped to show the game in a truly brutal fashion, and who wouldn't want to join in on a piece of that?

Finally, a large majority of Viking warriors would have been male. So, if you want to live the game as a true Viking would have experienced, it could be good to play as a male!

How to choose your gender

There are two ways you can select your gender in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.

TEMPLARS: Valhalla features a variety of period-specific soldiers

One is by manually selecting, which is done from the pause menu in the game.

The other is by letting the Animus choose.

This is found exactly the same way, but instead is a randomiser, as the Animus selects the gender for you.
