Battlefield 2042: How to Use Ranger Drone

EA DICE has gone back to the future with the Battlefield series and Battlefield 2042 is offering fans a fantastic look at fictional near-future warfare on all platforms. There are still a few issues to iron out, but it's a classic Battlefield experience with the legs to go on for a long time. If you want to learn how to use the Ranger Drone, we've got you covered. It's one of the best things about Battlefield 2042, really.

RANGER DRONE - How to use the robot dog

We don't want to boil things down to their basic level, but the Ranger Drone is the robot dog with a gun strapped to its head that you may have seen in the build-up to Battlefield 2042.

They're really useful to have in a fight and can work to suppress enemies if you're out in the open. If you want to call one into the battlefield, you're going to need to open up the Call-In Tablet.

You can do this by hitting R1 & L1 on PlayStation, RB & LB on Xbox, and B on PC Here, you'll be met with a few options: the Ranger Drone, a LATV4 Recon, the LCAA Hovercraft, or an M1A5/T28 Tank.

There is a limit to how many Ranger Drones you can have in one game - so this option might be greyed out.

Once you have called one in, all you need to do is open the PING Command Menu to access all the commands for the Ranger Drone. This can be done by holding down R1 on PlayStation, RB on Xbox, or Q by default on PC.

The Ranger Drone can follow you, defend a location, or attack an enemy position. They can follow you through most terrain and even have a deployable parachute if you're planning on jumping from a rooftop.
