How to fix Warzone "Server Disconnected" Problem

As one of the more popular FPS titles out there, Warzone is Call of Duty's take on the popular Battle Royale genre.

It's a large-scale, 150-player Battle Royale mode that drops players onto a massive map with up to 150 other players giving them the end goal of being the last man, or the last team, standing.

With an average of 50 million monthly players according to the website activeplayer.io, the constant cycle of players is bound to make errors pop up. One of these is the infamous "Server Disconnected," an error that doesn't allow players to connect to the game.

Here are some steps on how to combat the issue.

What is the "Server Disconnected" Error in Warzone

Reading as "Server Disconnected. You have been disconnected from the Call of Duty Modern Warfare servers" or sometimes “Connection Failed. Unable to access online services," this well-known issue prevents players from connecting to Warzone

It's one that affects every platform, this includes PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

How to fix Warzone "Server Disconnected" Problem

Fixing Warzone's "Server Disconnect" error is fairly simple. Here are a few ways of tackling the problem.

Restart Warzone

First and foremost—one of the simplest solutions of all time when it comes to any video game—is just to restart the game. This can be done in many ways, you can either close out of the game completely (even completely exiting out of the Battle.net launcher on PC) and boot it all up.

In some cases, you'll have to do this multiple times for it to take effect.

Check your Firewall

For PC-specific users, another solution is taking a look at your firewall. Sometimes one of your PC's defense systems, your firewall, mixes itself up and won't allow you to connect to servers on Warzone. That's why you just shut the firewall off.

Here's how to do it:

1. Open the Start Menu and search for Windows Defender
2. Click on Advance Settings and then Outbound Rules
3. Search for Call of Duty Modern Warfare on the list
4. Select Properties
5. Click on Allow Connection
6. That's it!

Restart your Internet Connection

Alongside restarting your video game, in this case, Warzone, restarting your internet connection is one of the oldest plays in the book.

First, check if your platform of choice is connected to the internet, if not, connect it, if so, move on to restarting your router.

You can restart your router by unplugging it for 10 seconds and then plugging it back in. Once that's done, reload the game.
