How to unlock the new Nail Gun in Black Ops Cold War & Warzone

Black Ops 3 'classic', The Nail Gun, is back. In Season 4 of Black Ops Cold War and Warzone, it is one of the main new weapons, ready to be unlocked now.

Below, we'll run you through how you unlock the Nail Gun in Black Ops Cold War and Warzone via either challenges or the store.

Update - How To Unlock The Nail Gun

We all know the drill by now, right? There are two ways to unlock new guns in Black Ops Cold War and Warzone. Firstly, you can unlock the Nail Gun if you purchase a Store Bundle with a Weapon Blueprint for the weapon included.

Treyarch has shared the first Nail Gun Weapon Blueprint Bundle with us early, so we now know which one you need to be looking out for when Season 4 hits. The Nail Gun will be included in the "Framework" Bundle. This includes the "Puncture Wound" Legendary Blueprint, the "Switcheroo" Finishing Move, the "Horrible Timing" Watch, the "Celebratory Smoke" Gesture, and two Tier skips!

Alternatively, you can unlock the Nail Gun at the start of Call of Duty Season 4 by completing the relevant in-game Unlock Challenges.

To do this, you will need to do the following:

• Black Ops Multiplayer - Get 5 Eliminations with Special Weapons in 15 different completed matches.
• Black Ops Zombies - Kill 25 Zombies in 12 different Outbreak Regions

What are Special Weapons?

If you're a little confused on what weapons could as Special Weapons, here's a list of all of them:

• R1 Shadowhunter Crossbow
  • Can be found in the Marksman Rifle category as a Primary
• Nail Gun
  • Can be found in the SMG category as a Primary
• M79 Grenade Launcher
  • Can be found in the Launcher category as a Secondary
• Ballistic Knife
  • Can be found in the Melee category as a Secondary

Season 4 Release Date

We won't find out exactly how to unlock the Nail Gun until Call of Duty Season 4 goes live and it's added to Black Ops Cold War and Warzone. So... When is that?

Black Ops Cold War is getting the update a little bit before Warzone, but the cross-progression between both games means that the Season 4 content is going to be added at the same time. You can start progressing towards the Nail Gun Unlock Challenges from 21:00 PST (June 16) / 00:00 EST / 05:00 BST on June 17th. There should be one relevant to Warzone as well as one relevant to Black Ops Cold War.

The Black Ops Cold War Unlock Challenge for the Nail Gun will be easier, but you'll still be able to get it without the game.
