Warzone 2 is almost here, and from what we've seen so far it will be everything we could want and more. There's tons of new weapons and mechanics to get to grips with, and some prior intel could make the difference in picking up your first win.
We've done our research on what the meta will be on Al Mazrah, and there are definitely a few guns to keep your eye on. Here's how to unlock all the best guns before we head into the action.

Taq 56 Assault Rifle
Unlock Requirements
- Level 19
The Taq 56 is an unstoppable assault rifle right now, and dead easy to unlock. It has massive damage at range which will be key on Al Mazrah.
Kastov 74U Assault Rifle
Unlock Requirements
- Kastov 762 level 10
- Kastov 545 level 13
The Kastov 74U is the best Kastov by a mile, and deals huge damage with a decent fire rate at close quarters. With the right attachments, or even better with a headshot, it can compete well up to mid-range.
Vaznev 9K SMG
Unlock Requirements
- Kastov 762 level 10
- Kastov 545 level 13
- Kastov 74U level 15
The Vaznev 9K takes some time to unlock but is well worth the wait. If you're looking for assault rifle damage in a SMG it has you covered. The Vaznev will pair perfectly with a sniper for any engagement in Warzone 2.
Lachmann Sub SMG
Unlock Requirements
- Lachmann 762 level 13
- Lachmann 556 level 12
The only other SMG truly worth your time is the Lachmann Sub, MW2's version of the MP5. The real-life versatility of the MP5 translates perfectly to Warzone 2, and is a must unlock.
M4 Assault Rifle

The M4 is the first gun you'll unlock in Modern Warfare 2, and if you're looking for a gun that does the job it's the last you'll need to bother with. With high damage and fire rate for any range, the M4 is an old favourite for a very good reason.
RAAL MG LMG
Unlock Requirements

LMGs will be a staple of the meta in Warzone 2, and none work quite as well as the RAAL MG. It will allow you to lock down open spaces for any range, which will be a must in Al Mazrah.
SP-R 208 Marksman Rifle
Unlock Requirements
- Level 7
The SP-R functions much like a sniper, but with much higher mobility and the ability to be used at close range with an iron sight very well. It has been terrorising lobbies in Modern Warfare 2 since its release, and Warzone 2 will be no different.
Lachmann 556 Assault Rifle
Unlock Requirements
- Level 13 Lachmann 762
The Lachmann 556 is the Grau reincarnated, and will be just as oppressive in Warzone 2 as its predecessor was in its time. With incredible range and low recoil, the Lachmann 556 is easy to use and packs a real punch.
STB 556 Assault Rifle
Unlock Requirements
- Level 41
The STB 556 is an assault rifle that takes a little getting used to, but once you have the muscle memory down it is almost unmatched. This gun can shred targets at any range in Warzone 2, and is a must unlock.
FSS Hurricane SMG
Unlock Requirements
- Level 14 M4
- Level 17 FTAC Recon
The FSS hurricane is the perfect secondary weapon with a sniper overkill class, as it makes up for all the shortcomings of a sniper rifle. With great mobility and massive fire rate, there are few weapons better for close-quarters fights in Warzone 2.
MCPR 300 Sniper Rifle
Unlock Requirements

The first sniper you'll unlock in Modern Warfare 2 also happens to be the best. With best-in-class damage at range, and a very easy to use weapon, the only contender the MCPR will have could be the release of the new Victus XMR.
