Lord Saladin is back in Destiny 2, in Iron Banner PVP game mode, a one-week-long Crucible event that offers its participants a multiplayer experience with unique quests, bounties, and rewards.
For Season 15, players need to complete the Iron Banner quest For the War to Come. Here is everything you need to know.
Event details
This edition of the Iron Banner is available from December 7, 2021, to December 14, 2021, at noon EST.
Requirements
To participate in the Iron Banner while the event is available, players must:
- First, reach Lord Shaxx in the New Light quest.
- Speak with Lord Saladin in the Tower Courtyard.
Iron Banner Mechanics
Lord Saladin will offer rewards to players who rank up their reputation with him by turning in Iron Banner Tokens.
Lord Saladin is found in the Tower Courtyard and can be accessed by taking the stairs next to the Gunsmith.
How to obtain Iron Banners Tokens
- Match Completions: Upon completing an Iron Banner Crucible match, players will be awarded Iron Banner Tokens.
- Weekly Bounties: Players may earn additional Iron Banner Tokens by completing Weekly Iron Banner bounties. These can be completed on each character throughout an Iron Banner event.
For the War To Come
This week Lord Saladin's challenge is called For the War to Come. These are the stages players need to complete to obtain special rewards:
Forewarned, Forearmed
- This stage consists of playing matches of Iron Banner, prioritizing Energy Weapon use.
- Challenges:
- 30 Guardians defeats
- 15 Energy weapon final blows
- 10 Zones captured
Clustered Shots
- The focus in this stage should be the use of a Pulse Rifle. At least for the first few games, as you are looking to achieve 15 kills.
- Challenges
- 20 Zones captured
- 15 Pulse Rifle final blows
- 6 Matches completed
Antipode
- In this stage, things start to be more challenging. Guardians require to focus on obtaining kills, capture zoned, and Solar or Stasis abilities.
- 100 Guardian defeats
- 30 Zones captured
- 10 Ability final blows (Solar or Stasis)
Final Lesson
- For the last challenges, the focus is on capturing zones and the use of super and sidearms.

- 40 Zones captured
- 15 Super final blows
- 15 Sidearm final blows
After completing these stages, Iron Banner will be unlocked after returning to talk with Lord Saladin.
Rewards
Bounties are consistently rotating in the Iron Banner through an initial set that will award four pieces of Pinnacle Gear in total.
