Destiny 2: Lightfall's first raid, the Root of Nightmares is finally here.
More than a week has passed since Lightfall launched. Since then, Guardians have had their hands full completing the new expansion's campaign, and getting their Power Levels up. In the end, this was all in preparation for the Root of Nightmares raid.
That being said, let's take a look at the Destiny 2 Lightfall Root of Nightmares raid as we count down to its release.

The Root of Nightmares raid will be opening on Friday, March 10, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. EST. Once it's time, the raid will be live in Destiny 2.

The Root of Nightmares Release Time
Once the countdown hits zero on Friday, March 10, 2023, at 12:00 p.m., players can expect the Root of Nightmares raid to be accessible in-game.
Below are the release times for other timezones:
- NA West: Friday, March 10, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. PST.
- Europe: Friday, March 10, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. CET
- United Kingdom: Friday, March 11, 2023, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. GMT
- China: Saturday, March 11, 2023, at 1:00 a.m. BJT
- Australia: Saturday, March 11, 2023, at 3:00 a.m. AUS

Destiny 2 Lightfall The Root of Nightmares What to Expect & Power Level Requirement
Not much information regarding the Root of Nightmares raid has been revealed. As usual, the developers over at Bungie have kept information tightly sealed.
Apart from the Tweet which announced the raid and its release date, there's not much to work off of. The Root of Nightmares raid has Guardians traverse through The Witness' Pyramid ship, taking on unsuspected foes. Additionally, its description reads as follows, "Ferried from an unknown time and place, a haunting presence has been detected. We must now confront the ancient threat growing at our doorstep." The tweet itself shows off a Fireteam of six Guardians standing inside the raid.
According to the developers at Bungie, all encounters in the Root of Nightmares raid will feature a Power Level cap of 1780. This means that players will need a Power Level of at least 1780 to enter The Root of Nightmares raid.
In order to gain Power Level, players can complete the Legendary version of the Lightfall campaign as doing so rewards players with a full gear set of 1770 Power Level. From there, the remaining 10 Power Levels can be gained through the game's various activities.
