Now that Destiny 2 is a week removed from the launch of the Lightfall expansion, players have their eyes set on the Root of Nightmares raid.
After experiencing and completing the Lightfall campaign, players are eager to get into Destiny 2: Lightfall's first raid, the Root of Nightmares. Guardians will get to go to The Witness' Pyramid ship, and take on enemies. But before they can do that, players have to make sure they have the adequate Power Level.

What is the required Power Level for Destiny 2 Lightfall’s Root of Nightmares raid?
According to the developers at Bungie, all encounters in the Root of Nightmares raid will feature a power cap of 1780. This means that players will need at least a Power Level of 1780 to take down bosses in the raid.
Players above 1780 Power Level will be lowered to the requirements as enemies in the Root of Nightmares raid sit at a Power Level of 1800.
The Power Level is what Guardians can expect when it comes to the raid's Contest Mode. Destiny 2 Contest Modes are some of the toughest modifiers in the game as they increase both overall health and damage from all enemies.

How to gain Power Level prior to Destiny 2 Lightfall’s Root of Nightmares raid
Gaining Power Level for the Root of Nightmares raid is quite simple and attainable.
First, players can complete the Legendary version of the Lightfall campaign as doing so rewards players with a full gear set of 1770 Power Level. From there, the remaining 10 Power Levels can be gained through the game's various activities.
Players have had a little more than a week to prepare from the release of the Lightfall expansion to the launch of the Root of Nightmares raid on Friday, March 10, 2023. Granted, players complete the Lightfall campaign's main story fairly quickly, players have ample time to get to a Power Level of 1780.
