When does TESO's Blackwood expansion release on consoles?

Bethesda's TESO is getting a new expansion and we're here to talk about The Elder Scrolls Online: Blackwood and its release times. It was announced a few months ago, but the release date is fast-approaching.

What's interesting is that the latest expansion is being added to the PC version of TESO sooner than the Console version of the MMORPG. Below, we have the latest information regarding both.

Blackwood Expansion Out On PC Now

As you might imagine, the PC version of The Elder Scrolls Online received the Blackwood expansion first. It was added to the game about a week ago now, as you can see in the tweet below, and this means you can actually find out what happens if you're a console player waiting for the expansion to release.

Why was it added to PC earlier though? It's mainly to do with the verification processes and the "hoops" Bethesda has to jump through to add their updates to consoles. It takes a lot longer to do this and that's why you often see PC updates arriving sooner than console ones on games where cross-play doesn't affect the gameplay.

It also all depends on the format of the update. Sometimes it just takes more time to develop and implement the changes into different versions of the title.

It isn't all bad, though. The longer wait often means that there are fewer server issues when it does go live. These usually get ironed out following the PC launch.

Console Update Release Times

With that being said, we're now looking forwards to the release of The Edler Scrolls Online: Blackwood on the console versions of the game.

Much like the last update, Bethesda has opted to release the new expansion on consoles exactly a week after the new expansion released on PC. This means that we're expecting everything to go down on June 8th.

As for the specific times, we're expecting it to be similar to the PC update's release schedule. This means it should be added to the live servers at around 09:00 PST / 12:00 EST / 17:00 BST.

This is just a few days before Microsoft & Bethesda Games Showcase at E3 2021. Could we see more information about TESO's next major expansion there? It would be the perfect place for it, even if it does seem a bit soon.
