We're reached that point in the year when EA assesses the top performers of the 2019/20 season and grants them a Ratings Refresh in FIFA 20 Ultimate Team.
Keep reading as we predict the top players that we expect to receive a base card rating boost.
Premier League Predictions
There are plenty of players who have performed to a standard way above that of their current rating – and some who have underperformed.
With the Premier League likely to be the first league to drop, here are a couple of players from England’s top flight who could see their ratings change.
Jamie Vardy (OVR 82 → 85)
The number one man on our list is none other than English centre forward Jamie Vardy – it’s fair to say the Leicester striker is well and truly having a party this season, as he leads the race for the golden boot with a massive return of 17 goals in 19 Premier League appearances.
Frankly, it’s hard to believe that Vardy’s FUT card was given an 82 overall rating in this year’s game – surely he’s done enough to earn a well-deserved boost.
Adama Traore (OVR 74 → 80)
Adama Traore has proven a devastating force for Wolves this season, contributing four goals and four assists in 20 Premier League appearances, helping his side reach seventh spot by 2020.
Evidently, Traore is worthy of a rating boost this month, especially when you consider his physicality is currently rated a measly 75. In addition, Adama has proven his shooting and dribbling abilities are above his current rating.

Bundesliga Predictions
The German top-flight is delivering one of the best title races across Europe, with the top four teams separated by just four points.
With some useful January business too, these new cards will be heavily coveted.
Erling Braut Haaland (OVR 73 → 78)
One of the hottest prospects in world football, Erling Haaland chose Borussia Dortmund over the likes of Manchester United and Juventus.
With a release clause of just £17 million, the signing of the Norwegian international is likely to be the scalp of the season, with the forward scoring 28 goals in 22 games for Red Bull Salzburg this term.

How the 19-year-old fares in the step up to the Bundesliga will be under immense scrutiny, but in a side featuring Jadon Sancho, Marco Reus, Julian Brandt and Thorgan Hazard, expect even more goals.
Timo Werner (OVR 83 → 84)
Still only 23, Timo Werner is another young forward with plenty of interest around him.
The RB Leipzig frontman has 23 goals in 25 games this season and is on the precipice of behind labelled as a world class striker.
If he can give up his rate and fire RB Leipzig to a first-ever Bundesliga title, expect him to be regarded as one of the finest on the planet… and his £68 million market value to shoot up.

La Liga
Barcelona and Real Madrid are neck-and-neck in Spain, but expect most of the Ratings Refresh upgrades to come elsewhere in the divisions.
Thomas Partey (OVR 82 → 84)
Atletico Madrid are currently in third place, above Sevilla on goal difference alone. A huge part of their success has been there ability to defend their own net, conceding just 12 goals so far this season – so, it’s fair to say that Thomas Partey has proven hard to get past.

The Ghanaian centre mid has already received two In-Form cards this season, first to 84 overall and then 86. Therefore, we can expect a Rating Refresh to 84 overall with similar stats to his first In-Form.
Gerard Moreno (OVR 81 → 83)
Gerard Moreno has had a bit of a breakthrough season for Villarreal, after transitioning from a striker to the right wing. He’s played in all 19 La Liga games this season, scoring eight goals and providing three assists.
Due to his strong performances, Moreno has been given two In-Form cards, rated 84 and then 86 overall. Therefore, we fully expect the Spaniard to receive a Rating Refresh, which will likely see him rise to 83 overall.

Serie A
For only the second time in seemingly a decade, a title race is on in Italy.
Inter Milan, Juventus and Lazio are split by just one point, so with 15 more rounds to go, expect it to go down to the wire.
Luis Alberto (OVR 84 → 86)
Former Liverpool midfielder Luis Alberto is the creator-in-chief for Serie A top scorer Ciro Immobile. Whilst Immobile has been scoring goals for fun, Alberto leads the assists table with 12 this season, five more than second place!

Alberto has received two in-form cards this season as his stock has continued to rise. His second IF is rated 87 OVR so a Ratings Refresh boost to 86 overall, the same as his first IF, could be in the pipeline for the Spaniard.
Lautaro Martinez (OVR 81 → 83)
Argentine ace Lautaro Martinez has formed a deadly partnership with Romelu Lukaku this season as they have fired Inter to the top of the table. Martinez has scored 14 goals in all competitions on top of the three assists he has provided in Serie A.
Both Inter’s strikers could be in for a boost, however, it is Martinez who is most likely as he is rated just 81 OVR! A Ratings Refresh boost to 83 overall seems more appropriate for the 22-year-old.

Ligue 1
It’s business as usual for PSG in Ligue 1, but there some other interesting storylines.
Rennes are flying high in third place, with Lyon stuck in mid-table obscurity.
Wissam Ben Yedder (OVR 83 → 85)
Ligue 1’s top goal scorer, Wissam Ben Yedder is enjoying an excellent season back in his native France. With 14 goals and six assists, the tricky forward boasts five more goal involvements than any other player.

A well-deserved boost to Ben Yedder’s overall could see him with an overall of 85 making him one of Ligue 1’s top players! With two IF cards and a OTW card rated 86, a Ratings Refresh is on the cards for the 29-year-old.
Moussa Dembele (OVR 80 → 82)
In double figures for the season, Moussa Dembele’s ten goals have come for an inconsistent Lyon side scrapping for a Champions League spot. There are transfer rumours circulating around the young forward, and a move to a bigger club could improve his chances of a Ratings Refresh.
Dembele has scored 10 of Lyon’s 31 league goals this season, outscoring former Man Utd flop Memphis Depay. The 22-year-old’s 80 overall could be boosted to 82 in the Ratings Refresh.

Rest of the World
Let’s not forget about the action so far this season in Holland, Portugal Turkey, Belgium and elsewhere around the globe.
Ajax and AZ Alkmaar are battling it out for top spot in the Eredivisie, whilst Benfica are beginning to pull ahead in Portugal.
Andre Onana (OVR 82 → 85)
Becoming one of the best goalkeepers in Europe, Ajax may be struggling to keep hold of stopper Andre Onana for much longer.
The Cameron international has 15 clean sheets to his name this term, linking him with a summer move to Chelsea.
Dieumerci Mbokani (OVR 78 → 80)
Former Norwich striker Dieumerci Mbokani has been on fire in Belgium this season! The 34-year-old has bagged an impressive 14 goals and created eight assists as Royal Antwerp push for Champions League qualification.

The Congolese striker’s red-hot form could see his rating rise as high as 80 in the Ratings Refresh. No one has outscored him this season as he has proved age is just a number.
