Lionel Messi among February La Liga POTM nominees

We still have one round of fixtures left in La Liga, but the nominees for February Player of the Month are out on FIFA 21.

Seven players have been nominated in total, including Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi.

Release Date

January's Player of the Month SBC expires on Friday, 5 March, so we could see a new POTM card replace it straight away.

Youssef En-Nesyri took home last month's award having scored seven goals in January.

Lionel Messi

With four goals and an assist in February, Lionel Messi is getting somewhere close to his best.

Messi has now scored nine goals in his last six La Liga matches, helping Barca go unbeaten since mid-December.

Thibaut Courtois

Real Madrid have kept themselves in the title race this month, picking up maximum points from their four matches.

Courtois conceded just once in February, in a 2-1 victory over Huesca.

Nabil Fekir

French maestro Nabil Fekir picked up an assist and a goal in February, putting his name forward for POTM.

Fekir's form has helped Real Betis to consecutive wins for only the third time this season.

Alexander Isak

With six goals in just three February games, Alexander Isak is bang in form.

Unsurprisingly, Real Sociedad have picked up maximum points in that time.

Jose Morales

Levante have endured a mixed season in 2020/21, but Jose Morales has continued to shine.

Morales' three goals this month have taken him into double figures for the season.

Yassine Bounou

Yassine Bounou has now gone unbeaten in five consecutive La Liga matches, taking him to 10 clean sheets already this season.

Sevilla's superb run of form has propelled them into the Champions League qualification places.

Alex Berenguer

Athletic Bilbao have gone unbeaten so far in February, with winger Alex Berenguer their main source of goals.

Berenguer scored three in three games, including a brace against Cadiz.
