FIFA 22 Best Italian Wonderkids: Rovella & Esposito top of potential maestros

We all know that Italy currently has a great bunch of players, after their win of Euro 2020.

On your FIFA 22 Career Mode you will be looking for the next generation of top talent, and finding some wonderkids can sort you right out.

Read on to discover the best Italian wonderkids on FIFA 22.

What makes a wonderkid?

For a real wonderkid, you have to be a teenager upon your first Career Mode save, so that means Moise Kean and Sandro Tonali will not be on the list!

Nicolo Rovella (OVR 70 - POT 87)

Nicolo Rovella is currently on loan at Genoa from Piemonte Calcio and is a technical midfielder who is excellent on the ball.

Don’t expect him to weigh in with too many goals though as he has a rating of 40 Finishing and 50 Long Shots.

Sebastiano Esposito (OVR 68 - POT 85)

Another player on loan, this time Sebastiano Esposito is spending his time with FC Basel from Inter.

Very comfortable on the ball, with a decent turn of pace, he is a bit of an all-rounder with yellow or above across all his attacking, skill, movement and power stats.

Samuele Ricci (OVR 67 - POT 84)

Empoli midfielder Samuele Ricci can reach 84 OVR in FIFA 22.

Ricci is solid in possession, and with the right development plans can become a brilliant deep-lying playmaker.

Eddie Salcedo (OVR 70 - POT 82)

Eddie Salcedo is another Inter player on loan, this time to Spezia.

He already has 78 PAC and 77 DRI so will be a tricky forward for the opposition to stop.

Lorenzo Pirola (OVR 64 - POT 82)

With a potential of 82 OVR, Lorenzo Pirola could become a very decent CB.

With 86 Strength and 72 Standing Tackle his highest stats, expect him to be solid defensively opposed to a ball-playing CB.

Brian Oddei (OVR 64 - POT 81)

Very good on the ball with 74 Dribbling and 72 Ball Control, Brian Oddei will be a weird player to control.

As a winger, he has much needed 75 Acceleration, but that is paired with only 59 Sprint Speed and poor agility.

Wilfired Gnonto (OVR 58 - POT 81)

Wilfried Gnonto has the pace to get into great positions, with 85 Sprint Speed, however, his 55 Finishing will need a lot of improvement for him to become more of a threat.

Getting him on the right development plan will be crucial in making him the player he could become.

Riccardo Calafiori (OVR 68 - POT 81)

The Roma left-back has the potential to become a powerful player, with a cannon of a left peg.

He can whip in a cross, but all his other passing stats are terrible, with 47 Short Passing, 44 Long Passing and 37 Vision.

Matteo Cancellieri (OVR 68 - POT 81)

Matteo Cancellieri may not be the best rated, and his potential of 81 OVR isn't staggeringly high, but he has green stats in all the right places, which will make him great to play with on FIFA 22.

His 79 PAC goes well with 72 DRI, he has great agility and has an alright end product that will only get better.

Destiny Iyenoma Udogie (OVR 64 - POT 81)

Another left-back, but this time one with much better passing ability.

Destiny Udogie has 73 PAC and is looking like he will be solid defensively as well as getting forward.
