FIFA 22 Best Young CAMs: Sign these SUPERSTARS to unlock any defence

Central attacking midfielders hold the keys to unlocking defences in FIFA 22 Career Mode, so make sure you have at least one top-quality option in your club.

Even better if the player is also young, as they will be able to occupy the position for years to come and you can build your team around them.

Take a look at who the best young CAMs to sign in FIFA 22 are so you can get them to join your club and take your team to the next level.

Defining Best Young CAMs

These central attacking midfielders (CAM) will all be aged 23 or under at the start of your first save on FIFA 22 Career Mode.

They will be expensive but should be worth the transfer fee if they grow into the world-class players they could become.

Christopher Nkunku (OVR 85 - POT 88)

Age: 23

Club: RB Leipzig

Position(s): CAM, ST, CF

Value: £63 million (Release clause: £112 million)

Wage: £86,000 a week

Christopher Nkunku has been on fire this season, which has seen his overall increase by +4 and his potential rating reach 88 OVR.

He can do it all in the final third and isn't too shabby defensively either, so put him right at the top of your wishlist.

Kai Havertz (OVR 84 - POT 91)

Age: 22

Club: Chelsea

Position(s): CAM, CF, ST

Value: £74 million (Release clause: £151 million)

Wage: £112,000 a week

Kai Havertz is starting to show why Chelsea paid £70 million for him, having scored the winning goal in the Champions League final and now keeping Romelu Lukaku out of the starting XI.

It won't be easy to sign Havertz in Career Mode, given the fact that the Blues will likely be asking for north of £100 million for the German.

Mason Mount (OVR 83 - POT 89)

Age: 22

Club: Chelsea

Position(s): CAM, RW

Value: £50 million (Release clause: £103 million)

Wage: £103,000 a week

Next up, we have another Chelsea youngster, local lad Mason Mount.

Mount could be a slightly cheaper option in Career Mode than the players already mentioned and still has a great potential of 89 OVR.

Martin Odegaard (OVR 83 - POT 89)

Age: 22

Club: Arsenal

Position(s): CAM, CM

Value: £50 million (Release clause: £106 million)

Wage: £82,000 a week

Martin Odegaard re-joined Arsenal on a permanent transfer this summer, following his loan spell last season.

So, if you want to sign the Norweigan in Career Mode, you'll need to wait a season, given he would have recently signed for the Gunners.

Florian Wirtz (OVR 82 - POT 90)

Age: 18

Club: Bayer Leverkusen

Position(s): CAM, CM

Value: £55 million (Release clause: £105 million)

Wage: £21,000 a week

A superstar in the making, Florian Wirtz is a player you want to get hold of early before his price skyrockets.

He is scoring and assisting in the Bundesliga and Europa League this season, so expect him to pick up good numbers for your squad too.

Dani Olmo (OVR 82 - POT 87)

Age: 23

Club: RB Leipzig

Position(s): CAM, CF

Value: £40 million (Release clause: £70 million)

Wage: £67,000 a week

Dani Olmo caught the eye of spectators of the Euro 2020 semi-final when Spain faced Italy, despite ending up on the losing side.

Olmo may look to have average stats now but can grow into a world-class 87 OVR rated player.

Houssem Aouar (OVR 80 - POT 85)

Age: 23

Club: Lyon

Position(s): CAM, LM, CM

Value: £28 million (Release clause: £54 million)

Wage: £52,000 a week

Houssem Aouar had a quieter season than he's used to last term, and has seen his potential downgraded, and it has been hit again (along with his overall rating) in a recent update.

He is still a very mobile and skilful player, who can do a job defensively if needed.

Dominik Szoboszlai (OVR 78 - POT 87)

Age: 20

Club: RB Leipzig

Position(s): CAM, LM

Value: £27 million (Release clause: £51 million)

Wage: £42,000 a week

Being touted as a future star already, Dominik Szoboszlai has an awesome potential of 87 OVR.

He is really comfortable on the ball so can find space in and around the box, and has a top long shot on him too.

Brahim Diaz (OVR 78 - POT 86)

Age: 22

Club: AC Milan (on loan from Real Madrid)

Position(s): CAM, LW, LM

Value: £27 million

Wage: £77,000 a week

Unfortunately, Brahim Diaz is on a two-year loan at AC Milan from Real Madrid, so if you plan on signing him you will have to wait a while.

If you do get him, you will be rewarded with a very nippy and agile CAM, who can weave past defenders and also play on the wing.

Giovanni Reyna (OVR 77 - POT 87)

Age: 18

Position(s): CAM, RM, LM

Club: Borussia Dortmund

Value: £19 million (Release clause: £36 million)

Wage: £15,000 a week

The American player combines the usual traits you would expect of a CAM, good skill on the ball and agility, with a bit more of a physical presence at 6'1" with 75 Strength.

Giovanni Reyna is getting a lot of game time at Borussia Dortmund and contributing with goals, which will only improve his development.

Cheaper options available

If you find that all the players on this list are out of your price range, then check out these wonderkid CAMs.

They may not get into your first team straight away, but after a couple of seasons, they will be right in there and looking to improve further into some of the best players on the game.

Some can be signed for only a couple of million, so you can bring a few in and really control the game!
