FIFA 22: Cristiano Ronaldo takes ANOTHER hit in latest ratings update

The latest squad update for FIFA 22 is now available, and once again Cristiano Ronaldo has taken a hit.

There are plenty of position changes and trait alterations in the latest update, with some top Premier League stars rewarded and penalised for their recent on-field performances.

Ronaldo is the highest-profile player to see his details altered, although the likes of Sadio Mane and Erling Haaland also feature in the latest update.

Losing the legs

We have already seen Cristiano Ronaldo take a hammering in the mid-season squad updates, so it is a relief to see his in-game stats stay the same!

However, the Portuguese superstar has had his Speed Dribbler (AI) trait removed, a sign of his slowing down.

ADAPTING - Ronaldo has morphed into a penalty box predator

CR7 has adapted his game over the years and he now relies less on his speed and dribbling, so this seems a fair change for EA to make.

One thing Ronaldo certainly has not lost yet is his eye for goal, as shown by his devastating hat-trick against Spurs in the Premier League.

Ronaldo is not the only United player to lose the Speed Dribbler trait either, with both Luke Shaw and Alex Telles seeing it removed from their profiles!

Lazy Haaland?

In one of the recent updates, we see Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku's work rates downgraded, and now another top striker has received the same treatment.

Erling Haaland has seen his defensive work rate drop from High to Medium in the update which arrived on Tuesday, 22 March.

SLOW DOWN - Haaland is taking a more relaxed approach to defending

Whether this is warranted or not is up for debate, but we can't see it making too much difference to him in the game.

In fact, it may even help him as he will conserve his energy for attacking play rather than chasing back when his team loses the ball.

Trent CAN defend

While no one can argue Trent Alexander-Arnold's brilliance in attack, his defensive ability is often brought into question.

Jurgen Klopp recently defended his right-back, and now EA has supported the pair with an increase to TAA's Interceptions.

RELIABLE - Alexander-Arnold's defending is getting better

A string of impressive defensive displays from Alexander-Arnold has meant this upgrade is thoroughly deserved, and he remains the best right-back in the game.

Elsewhere in the Liverpool squad, Sadio Mane received a CF secondary position, while Andrew Robertson saw his potential limited to 87, meaning he is unlikely to improve in Career Mode.
