FIFA 22 FUT Captains Team 2: Jose Fonte leak shows MASSIVE pace upgrade

The FUT Captains promo may only be in its first week, but it has already brought some incredible new cards to FIFA 22 Ultimate Team.

As well as FUT Heroes cards gaining upgrades, current captains have also been rewarded with boosts, which has seen a new pool of players picked during the event.

The Team 2 leaks are coming thick and fast and it looks like another Portuguese centre-back is joining the party.

Fearsome Fonte

We assumed that when Fut Sheriff teased about a Portuguese CB coming, he was referring to Pepe, who was making the rounds on socials.

Now it seems he was making reference to Jose Fonte, who is set to be another imposing Ligue 1 defender.

Gone is his awful 32 PAC, now increased massively to 82 PAC, making him a very useable card.

We're not sure what this means for the Pepe leak, who could definitely still make an appearance during FUT Captains, although now it doesn't have the backing of Sheriff we're not as confident.

FUT Captains Team 2 release date

The FUT Captains Team 1 squad was released on Friday, 8 April.

We expect the current promo players to be available in packs for one week only, at which time they will be replaced by Team 2 cards.

This means that the FUT Captains Team 2 squad will be released on Friday, 15 April.

The promo cards will be released into packs at approximately 1pm ET / 6pm BST, along with new objectives and SBC cards.
