FIFA 22 Icon Swaps 2: How to prepare for the promo in Ultimate Team

The Road to the Final promo has just begun in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team, and there is another massive event set to join it.

Icon Swaps 2 should be released very soon, which means you'll be able to unlock more massive packs and bring some legends of the game to your club.

Find out how you can best prepare for Icon Swaps 2 right here.

Release Date

Icon Swaps 2 could potentially be released between Monday, 21 February and Monday, 14 March, with reliable leaker Fut Sheriff claiming it will be the former.

So get ready for Monday, 21 February, with the new objectives, tokens and SBCs likely to arrive at the usual time of 1pm ET / 6pm GMT on the day of release.

What are Icon Swaps?

Icon Swaps is a promo that EA runs multiple times throughout the FUT calendar.

Icon Swaps allows players to earn tokens through gameplay objectives (Squad Battles, Division Rivals & FUT Friendlies) that can be used to claim icons and pack rewards via SBCs.

You can check out all the rewards available in Icon Swaps 2 right here.

How to prepare for Icon Swaps 2

We’ve seen what EA released for Icon Swaps 1, so we can predict how best to prepare for the upcoming set of objectives.

First owned Requirement was brought back in for FUT 22, with some Icon Swaps Objectives being tailored towards Friendlies with various squad restrictions, so make sure you:

  • Save good first owned players from the Top 5 Leagues (Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A & Ligue 1)
  • Save good players from popular Nations (Argentina, Brazil, England, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Netherlands & Belgium)
  • Complete SBCs for usable meta cards from the Top 5 Nations & Top 5 Leagues

We expect to see the same format as we saw with Icon Swaps 1, which will mean three sets of winning 6 matches in a Live FUT Friendly mode, with at least 8 First Owned players from a certain league or nation in your starting squad; five sets of winning 6 matches in Squad Battles, with a full squad of players from a certain league or nation or First Owned; and winning FUT Champions matches.

Investment opportunity

The Squad Battle objectives that were released in Icon Swaps 1 did not all require first owned players, but required players from specific leagues.

Should these objective requirements return, many players will be looking to purchase cards from specific non-top 5 leagues.

Once the objectives are released the demand for these cards will spike massively.

So, it is worth purchasing players from non-top 5 leagues now and then selling when their price increases in a few days time.

The more cards you buy, the more profit you will make.
