FIFA 22: Overpowered centre-back gets double nerf in latest update

In FIFA 22 there are some players that are just overpowered.

We're not entirely sure why, but some magic combination of attributes, body type and play style combines to make certain players unreal.

One such man is PSG's dominant French centre-back Presnel Kimpembe, however, rumours are circulating that his dominance is coming to an end.

Too good for the game

As mentioned, Kimpembe is an overpowered player.

Despite having a base rating of 83 OVR, the guy is incredible, with 81 PAC, 86 PHY and 83 DEF.

It makes him one of the most popular defenders in FIFA 22, but also one of the most hated to face.

This has even resulted in a petition on change.org to get him removed from the game, which has over 10,000 signatures!

As argued by the petition's founder, Danny Aarons:

Ever since the release of FIFA 22, Kimpembe has ruined millions of people's weekends, especially on the game mode "FUT Champions" By removing him from the game, it will result in a positive environment for everyone who plays the game.

Well, the petition may not have worked, but it looks like the latest game update may be giving players what they've wanted.

There was a title update on PC today and noticed they changed Kimpembe's body type and he's leaner now, and changed his haircut to bald. He didn't come up as OP to me when my opponent had him in his team. Not sure about next Gen tho

Yes, Kimpembe's hair has finally been updated, so he will no longer be sporting the blonde look.

Much like the mythical Sampson, it seems as though all Kimpembe's power came from his bold do, with a leaner body type also apparently issued to him in the PC update.

Although we haven't seen his body type updated in the databases, multiple people have reported noticing a slimmer build when facing the player.

Not just this, but it's also been reported that he is now much easier to face in-game.

It appears that his body type could have been the magic ingredient in creating a superpowered monster.

So far this has only been reported on PC, so we wait to see if the changes follow on consoles.
