FIFA 22 Juventus Career Mode Guide: Starting Lineup and Who to sign

Despite the loss of Cristiano Ronaldo, Piemonte Calcio will still be a popular option on FIFA 22 Career Mode.

They are one of the biggest clubs in the world, with a decent budget, and the draw of playing with some of the best defenders we've seen in recent times.

The squad is in a time of transition, with an injection of youth and new players needed to take over from the old guard, so test yourself and see if you have what it takes to rejuvenate The Old Lady.

Team Rating

Piemonte Calcio have a five-star rating on FIFA 22.

That is broken down with a team rating of 82 ATK, 82 MID, and 84 DEF.

Starting Lineup and Formation

Piemonte line up as a 4-2-3-1 Wide, in a slightly more defensive manner than the 4-2-3-1 Narrow.

SOLD DEFENSIVELY - What else would you expect

You could change this to a 4-3-3 Attack if you want a more offensive formation, or some variation of a 3 or 5 at the back, such as a 5-2-1-2 or 3-1-4-2.

There are only three wingers in the team, and one of those is designated as a RB, so if you want to play that way be prepared to invest.

Up top, you have Alvaro Morata, a very balanced striker who offers a bit of pace, strength, aerial threat, and decent feet.

Behind him is the biggest talent in the team, Paulo Dybala, a threat of all kinds in the final third.

Adrien Rabiot and Manuel Locatelli are the CDMs, protecting the backline and working the ball about.

They are flanked by Federico Chiesa and Juan Cuadrado, who offer a lot of pace to run at the opposition with.

The back four are solid, with Matthijs de Ligt and Leonardo Bonucci at the heart of it (plus the option to bring in Giorgio Chiellini), and Alex Sandro and Danilo offering wing-backs who are comfortable in possession.

Top-class goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny is in sticks, unlikely to be leaving anytime soon.

The bench has a couple of impact players with Moise Kean and Dejan Kulusevski both offering some pace, with the rest being decent players but no real top talent.

Tactics and Instructions

Piemonte's tactics are set to play a very secure, slow-building possession game.

Their defensive style is set to Balanced in order to keep the shape while pressing, but they have a high line, in order to suffocate the opposition.

In attack, they play Slow Build Up with Possession, with a lot of players set to get into the box.

If you don't do anything too hastily, you can slowly work your way forward, until you have many players up in goalscoring positions.

If controlling the play is what you're about, then keep it as is, but if you want a faster pace then you'll have to change things up.

Most of the player instructions are balanced, with Morata set to Stay Forward to offer you an out ball, and Dybala given Free Roam in order to create varying attacking situations.

MAN THE BARRICADES - Nearly all players have a defensive role to fill

Both the LM and RM are set to Come Back On Defence, making the team very hard to get past, and when you do get the ball back there will be numbers with you to play your way out of trouble.

Development Plans

There isn't much to be done with the initial squad, with the only teenager being Kaio Jorge.

Look to train him up, as well as De Ligt, Locatelli, Kulusevski, and Luca Pellegrini.

No one needs a position change, but if you are looking at keeping Rabiot as a CDM it would be worth adapting him.

Transfer Market

Starting transfer budget: £89 million

Starting wage budget: £432,000 a week

Who should go

You don't have a massive squad to play with so make sure you bring in replacements.

A lot of the team's top players are ageing, and it may be worth seeing out their contracts as you won't make masses of money from them.

Arthur is the most valuable player you'd be willing to lose, he has a potential of 85 OVR but could fetch you more than his £40 million value.

Aaron Ramsey, Federico Bernardeschi, Daniele Rugani, and Mattia De Sciglio can all go, with none of them able to get above 80 OVR.

You could also sell Rabiot, as he can only improve by +1, to an 82 OVR.

Third keeper Carlo Pinsoglio can fetch you an additional mil if you can find a taker.

Loans

There is only one player worth loaning out, and that is Kaio Jorge, with a potential of 82 OVR.

Piemonte Calcio has quite a few players out on loan for a year.

When they return it is NOT worth keeping Gianluca Frabotta, Riccardo Capellini, Paolo Gozzi, Filippo Delli Carri, Grigoris Kastanos, Marko Pjaca, Giacomo Vrioni or Alejandro Marques, with none of them having the potential to get close to the 80 OVR barrier.

On the other hand, feel free to keep Radu Dragusin, Merih Demiral, and Rolando Mandragora, but bear in mind that they won't get higher than 82 OVR.

Keep an eye out for the return of Nicolo Rovella, who could reach a potential 87 OVR, and Mohamed Ihattaren, with a potential of 85 OVR.

Annoyingly, a couple of first-team players are on loan at Piemonte, with Chiesa and Morata returning to their parent clubs at the end of the season, so you will have to find replacements there.

Kean is another player on loan, however, he is on a two-year deal, giving you some more time to think about reinforcements.

Who to Sign

Obviously, this all depends on who you get rid of and what formation you choose, but there are a few positions that need additions regardless.

There are no LMs or LWs in the squad, although Chiesa and Kulusevski can play that position it's worth investing there.

Someone like Filip Kostic could play that role well, being comfortable in defence and attack, and not breaking the bank so you can invest across the squad.

The squad has two first-team quality right-backs, but both get in the starting XI with Cuadrado filling in at RM, so finding someone to either replace Danilo or a young back-up will be important.

Again, look to save some money here, and remember with the standard team set-up you don't need a super attacking RB, so Nordi Mukiele would be a prime choice.

Where you can really look to splash the cash is in attack, finding a top-class striker.

You could try to make Morata's loan a permanent move, but he's not going to be growing his overall rating, so finding a young striker like Alexander Isak, who also offers speed, power, and skill, would be best.

Another option would be Marcus Rashford, not as powerful, but lightening up top and can play as a LM too.

Any additional money you have will be worth investing in a few young, cheap players with high potential, and possibly a top-class midfielder.

Contracts

There are seven players who have a year left on their contract, the most important of which is Dybala.

Make sure you secure him on as long a term deal as you can, as he will be at the heart of your attack for a good few seasons.

The other first-team player you're in danger of losing is Cuadrado, and despite his age, you will want to keep hold of him, as he is still a very good player.

Board Expectations

The board expects trophies, so Domestic Success and Continental Success are both of critical importance, having to win Serie A, the Coppa Italia, and at least reach the final of the Champions League.

The other critical priority is Brand Exposure, which has a Short Term and Long Term target.

Short Term you need to get 10 home games without defeat in the season, pretty standard.

Long Term you will have to sign three of the best players in the world (don't worry, that means OVR 82+), but you have two seasons to complete it.

Youth Development is of medium importance, where signing a defender in your Youth Academy is one of the tasks, and the other is to sign at least three players younger than 20 with a higher potential than the average overall rating of current players in that position.

Of low priority is Financial targets, with a Long Term plan to increase your club worth by 25% over three seasons.
