Ferdinand selects FIVE Liverpool players in his Ultimate Team feature squad

The FIFA 22 Ultimate Team game cycle is now well underway, with the Ones to Watch promo in full swing!

We now have our first featured squad of the season too, brought to you by England and Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand.

Featured Squad Battle

Squad Battles are the offline version of division rivals, with various weekly ranks and rewards.

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has selected this week’s featured squad, and he seems to have looked to the Red Devils' rivals in order to find some defensive stability!

Defence

Ferdinand has shockingly selected THREE Liverpool players to play in his back four.

World-class Reds, Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold start in the full-back positions, with the big Dutchman, Virgil Van Dijk in at centre back.

Less shocking, however, is Rio's inclusion of himself in his featured squad!

The Englishman has picked the mid Icon version, which is currently the cheaper of the two cards available on the transfer market right now.

Man United fans can be pleased with Rio's goalkeeper pick, with fan-favourite David De Gea starting in net.

Midfield

Ferdinand has picked a very well balanced midfield trio.

Providing defensive cover in the number six position is Brazilian midfielder, Fabinho.

Rio has then gone for perhaps the two best creators in world football right now, and two of the highest-rated players in FIFA 22...

Belgian maestro Kevin De Bruyne occupies the first slot, with 93 passing unlocking the opposition defence.

Next to KDB is none other than the GOAT, Lionel Messi.

We have included Messi in the midfield as we think Ferdinand envisaged the Argentine playing in the number 10 position for his team.

Attack

Now here's where Ferdinand's XI gets really exciting.

On the left flank, Rio has selected former Manchester United teammate and the September Premier League Player of the Month 2021, Cristiano Ronaldo!

The Portuguese legend earned himself a 92 OVR special POTM item following his impressive return to Old Trafford last month.

Yet another Liverpool player occupies the right-hand side of the attack, with Rio picking Mohamed Salah's 90-rated in-form card, that he received in the very first Team of the Week of the season.

Leading the line is Brazilian legend, O Fenomeno, with an incredible 94 OVR card, valued at an obscene 11 million coins on PlayStation and 7.5 million coins on Xbox.
