With so much at stake, we think Season Rewards are one area that EA can pick up an easy win.
Unsurprisingly there has been no word on when FIFA 22 will officially be released, but we can have a pretty accurate guess.
FIFA 22 will likely be released between Friday, 24 September and Friday, 8 October 2021, judging by the release in previous years.
It does look like it will be a late September release though, at least if @FUTZONECENTRAL on Twitter is to be believed.
If so, then Friday, 24 September is the date for your diaries with Pre Orders beginning the week of Monday, 12 July.
Vanquish the vanity items
Honestly, who actually wants to collect the assortment of Tifos, Themes, Balls, and whatever else EA adds to the game.
In-game customization seems to be at the forefront of loads of games right now, but is it really necessary in FIFA Ultimate Team?
Surely the custom options we want to see in that revolve around the club crest and kit, not a stadium tifo you might see maybe once or twice per game.
It really does feel like a letdown each time you level up in Season Rewards, only to fire some useless item straight into the quick-sell pile.
Save our Season… rewards. Season Rewards are not the be-all and end-all in FIFA Ultimate Team, in fact, they are far from it.
However, it is nice to be rewarded for your endeavours with a free pack or item every now and then (but not those pesky vanity items).
We love the Storyline Player picks too and want more of these thrown in as their shelf-life is pretty short as the power curve grows quickly.
A player pick at LVL 10, 20, and 30 does not seem unreasonable. We would also like to see more packs included, with some Rare Gold Player Picks a viable option.
We are not alone in thinking that Season Rewards need a change either.
Disgruntled Reddit user Didledee wrote, "EA really need to stop filling the season xp rewards with junk, especially the dark balls."
We could not agree more. The 'Donut' ball we saw earlier in the season was so bad it forced EA into changing the whole system as part of Title Update #8!
Please EA, get rid of these pointless rewards and give us something to work for.
