What makes a wonderkid left-back?

To class as a left-back, we are looking for players that are either a LB or LWB.

For a real wonderkid you have to be a teenager upon your first FIFA 22 Career Mode save, so that means Alphonso Davies will not be on the list!

Nuno Mendes (OVR 79 - POT 88)

Age: 19

Position(s): LB, LWB

Club: PSG (on loan from Sporting CP)

Value: £31 million

Wage: £7,000 a week

Nuno Mendes is currently on loan at PSG, who have an option to buy the player.

He is rapid and generally has a great all-round game, so the French club will almost certainly pursue that option, as LB is their weakest area on the pitch.

Aaron Hickey (OVR 73 - POT 85)

Position(s): LWB, LB, LM

Club: Bologna

Value: £6 million (Release clause: £11.4 million)

Wage: £10,000 a week

Aaron Hickey missed a large chunk of the season after undergoing surgery, but he is back starting again and has some goals this season.

He is equally good on both feet, and despite being a LB is actually designated as a right-footer.

Although unusual for that to be the case, we have seen how effective that can be through the likes of Cancelo and Spinazzola.

Luca Netz (OVR 71 - POT 85)

Luca Netz is still trying to settle on a position, but what we do know is it will be on the left.

He has played at LB, LM and LW this season, but is much better suited to defensive responsibilities.

Adrien Truffert (OVR 74 - POT 83)

Adrien Truffert can put in a great cross, with decent stats across the board in movement, skill and defending.

Although a LB, you may find employing him higher up the pitch has its advantages.

Alex Balde (OVR 68 - POT 83)

Playing all his football at youth level until this season, Alex Balde was called up to the Barcelona first team to help fill out their injury-stricken team.

He made a substitute appearance in the Champions League and managed just under half a game in La Liga before getting injured himself!

Quite speedy and comfortable on the ball, definitely look out for him being an attacking threat down the left.

Julian Aude (OVR 66 - POT 83)

Club: Lanus

Wage: £860 a week

He played mainly as a left-back last season, but this term Julian Aude has played all his games as a CDM or CM.

That shows the type of player you can expect to sign, ok defensively, with great composure and control of the ball.

Milos Kerkez (OVR 63 - POT 83)

Club: AZ Alkmaar

Value: £1.1 million (Release clause: £2.8 million)

Wage: £430 a week

AZ Alkmaar's Milos Kerkez is a new addition to FIFA 22, getting added in February.

His stats don't look like anything special at the moment, with no one area that stands out to specialise in, however, with a potential of 83 OVR he is worth keeping an eye on.

Miguel (OVR 67 - POT 82)

Club: Real Madrid

A Spanish man at a giant Spanish club, Miguel has gained a few starts for Real Madrid this season.

He will be solid enough at most aspects of the game but is unlikely to excel in one enough to be a go-to choice.

Omar Campos (OVR 66 - POT 82)

Club: Santos Laguna

Omar Campos has seen his overall and potential ratings rise as the season has gone on, with a position change coming too which makes him one of the top left-back prospects around.

He is pacey and good on the ball, but it remains to be seen whether he suits a more defensive or offensive position.
