With EA dropping better and better cards via Squad Building Challenges (SBCs), you will need to start raising the base level of the fodder you invest in to complete them.

Cheapest 85-Rated Players

The need for 85 OVR cards is currently at a high in Ultimate Team, which has led to a huge price increase.

Thankfully, that is starting to lower, with the cheapest 85-rated players available on the FUT 23 transfer market now costing around over 8,000 coins on PlayStation and Xbox.

There are a couple of players on the list that have a gold card for two clubs, so make sure you are getting the right version of Jorginho and Yan Sommer!

So, in order to hit the minimum squad rating, you will need 'SBC fodder'.

SBC fodder refers to high-rated cards that are cheap in price due to either their on-pitch performance or their underrated value in the market but are useful in SBCs because of their high OVR rating.

In many cases, it can be more economical to include an 85 OVR or 86 OVR card in SBCs that require a lower-rated squad, such as an 82 or 83 squad rating, as it can significantly bump up the overall rating of the squad.
