From fan-favourite promos to cool in-game events, the Ultimate Team content throughout the course of the FIFA 23 game cycle has been fantastic.

There's still plenty more to come, with the FUT Birthday festivities kicking off and the Team of the Season (TOTS) promo coming over the horizon.

EA continues to deliver events and activities via the Objectives menu in FUT 23, giving players the chance to earn unique pack rewards and special cards.

However, in the midst of all the Ultimate Team madness, EA seems to have totally forgotten about one particular section of the FIFA 23 database...

Forgotten feature

The forgotten feature is, of course, the 'Events' section of the Ultimate Team Objectives menu.

Previously, when an Event was active, players would be required to align themselves with one of the competing teams or players.

This would be done by selecting a team or player on the Events tab found on the Objectives screen, which would also display which side is in the lead.

Completing at least one of your team's Event Objectives would mean you were eligible to earn free rewards if your selected team won the event.

SAME OLD STORY - It has been a long time since this screen has changed

Now, whilst the Events Objectives tab isn't the most popular of FUT 23 features, EA's neglect towards the section is nothing short of bemusing.

Having been inactive for over 170 days now and counting, it's fair to say EA Sports has pretty much abandoned the Events tab.

Leaving the Events tab untouched for so long makes no sense, especially when the feature had the scope to become a really cool section of the game.

Untapped potential

The Events Objectives tab has so much potential to become one of the most popular sections of the FUT menus.

First of all, EA could tie in the Events Objectives with the ongoing promotional campaigns and run a new Event with each new promo.

For example, with the Road to the Final (RTTF) promo, EA could have focused on a big European clash and selected two teams to go head to head, with RTTF-based rewards on offer for those who won.

ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES - There is so much EA can still do with Events

Another concept idea would be to allow FIFA players to vote for a player they wanted to see included in an upcoming promo via the Events tab.

For example, for the FUT Birthday campaign, EA could offer FUT fans the chance to vote for either Allan Saint-Maximin or Leandro Trossard.

Whichever player receives the most votes would be included in the promo and the users that voted for that player would be eligible for FUT Birthday-based rewards.

The possibilities really are endless and we still remain hopeful that EA will revive the Events Objectives tab, meaning we could potentially see some of these ideas become a reality in-game.

FIFA 24

With the FIFA 23 game cycle in a bit of a lull right now, fans are beginning to wonder when the next title in the series will be released.

Well, it's important to understand that FIFA as we know it will not be named 'FIFA 24'. Instead, it will now be named 'EA Sports FC', following the well-documented split between FIFA and EA Sports after ongoing licensee fee issues

COMING SOON - LaLiga highlights will be available in EA Sports FC

So, we're not looking forward to a FIFA 24 release date but now an 'EA Sports FC' release date - the title of EA's new footballing sim, set to arrive in 2023.

We expect to see an EA Sports FC release date of around Friday, 29 September 2023, in keeping with the FIFA titles that have gone before.
