FIFA 23 - First EVER 99 pace goalkeeper set to hit Ultimate Team

EA has already kicked off the Winter Wildcards festivities with the latest Swaps program now underway in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team.

Things are just ramping up, though, with the Winter Wildcard promotional squad set to hit packs soon and more Objectives and SBC players on the way too.

As usual, the Winter Wildcard leaks are coming thick and fast now and it looks like the quickest goalkeeper in the history of FUT is set to be released this Friday.

The player in question is Milinkovic-Savic. No, not Lazio's midfield powerhouse Sergej Milinkovic-Savic but Torino's Vanja Milinkovic-Savic.

According to the ever-reliable Ultimate Team leaker, Fut Sheriff on Twitter, the Sebia international will be included in the Winter Wildcard promo squad with a card listed to possess 99 pace.

Currently, only two players in the FUT 23 database have 99 pace - World Cup Team of the Tournament (TOTT) Kylian Mbappe and World Cup Hero Saeed Al-Owairan.

If this leak is true, we could be about to see the first ever 99 pace goalkeeper in Ultimate Team.

The question is - is Vanja Milinkovic-Savic actually that quick in real life? Well, as far as we can see he is no quicker than the likes of Alisson or Ederson.

So, it seems pretty random that EA has chosen the Serbian 'keeper to be the first-ever goalie with 99 pace in FIFA, but we aren't complaining!

Holding the triangle button to bring the goalkeeper out when an opponent's striker is through on goal is a surefire way to put your opposition number nine off, but Milinkovic-Savic will take this to the next level.

The Torino GK will be out in a flash and we can't wait to see it in action.

What is the Winter Wildcard promo?

The Winter Wildcard promo will involve EA selecting a group of fan-favourite players and handing them significant one-time upgrades.

In addition to the rating boosts, EA will also be giving selected cards positions changes and new attributes as well as skill move and weak foot upgrades.

Last year, Paris Saint-Germain's Neymar Jr headlined the Team 1 squad with an incredible 93 OVR striker item that boasted five-star skill moves and a five-star weak foot.

Liverpool's defensive midfielder Fabinho was transformed into a centre-forward and handed appropriate boosts to match his new role.

The likes of Kingsley Coman, Adel Taarabt and Leonardo Spinazzola had their skill moves or weak foot star ratings adjusted.
