Messi's TOTT item costs millions of coins on the transfer market, but you can now unlock it for FREE in Ultimate Team for a limited time only.

How to get TOTT Messi for FREE
Okay, so Messi isn't entirely free to unlock, but it is damn near close.
Getting your hands on Team of the Tournament Lionel Messi couldn't be simpler in Ultimate Team.
All you need to do is follow these simple steps:
- Launch FIFA 23 and open Ultimate Team.
- Head to the Squad Building Challenges menu.
- Scroll until you find the World Cup TOTT Angel Di Maria SBC.
- Click on Di Maria's SBC and go to the 'Argentina' squad.
For completing the 'Argentina' Squad Building Challenge, you will receive a World Cup Team of the Tournament Lionel Messi (OVR 94) item on a three-match loan.
In order to complete the 'Argentina' section of the Di Maria SBC and unlock Messi, you will need to submit a squad with the following requirements:
- # of players from Argentina: Min 1
- Squad Rating: Min 84
- # of players in the Squad: 11
You will need to be quick, though, as this SBC expires on Sunday, 1 January.
This will set you back by roughly 30,000 coins (PS and Xbox), but of course, you can complete the SBC using untradeable items that are already in your club.
The TOTT Messi item you receive is a loan version. So, it is wise to leave at least one match on this loan card and use him in limitless Friendlies matches for the rest of the FUT calendar.
Magical Messi
Lionel Messi received a Team of the Tournament item for his performances at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, which ultimately led to him lifting the trophy.
The little magician scored twice in the final against France as well as dispatching his penalty calmly passed Hugo Lloris in the shootout.
Messi's World Cup final brace took his tally to seven goals in the tournament, second only to Kylian Mbappe's eight after his Paris Saint-Germain teammate scored a wonderful hattrick in the final.
The 35-year-old also registered the most assists of anybody at the 2022 World Cup, tied with Antoine Griezmann on three.
Lionel Messi's mesmerising form at the winter competition was rewarded with a 94 OVR World Cup Team of the Tournament card in Ultimate Team.
