FIFA 23 Icons: Legendary strikers will NOT be coming this year


The news for FIFA 23 is starting to come in as we get ready for the upcoming game.

A title change to EA Sports FC will happen next year, with EA and FIFA parting ways, but for now, things will remain consistent.

That means Icons will be populating Ultimate Team once again, so check out all the latest news and rumours surrounding the powerful cards below, including a leak that has suggested two rumoured powerhouses will NOT be arriving in this year's game.

LEAKS Squashed

Prolific leaker FUTSheriff has taken to Twitter to squash initial rumours that indicated striking duo David Villa and Gabriel Batistuta would be arriving as Icons in this year's game.

Initial leaks had suggested that the two strikers has been added to the code months back, but Sheriff has denied these rumours.

Both Batistuta and Villa would have been popular inclusions, with their potential omission set to disappoint many.

Zico Removed

FUTSheriff has also revealed that rumoured FIFA 23 Icon Zico will not be arriving in the game.

Sheriff has claimed that the removal of Zico is due to "contractual disputes", with the former Brazil sensation once leaked to be a new Icon in this year's game.

There has been some confusion regarding Zico's arrivial in FIFA 23, but this most recent leak indicates that one of Brazil's finest exports will have to wait a little longer to become an Ultimate Team Icon.
