FIFA 23 - The GOATs have become mere fodder as FUT market hits ROCK BOTTOM

EA has flooded FIFA 23 Ultimate Team with an abundance of cool World Cup-themed content over the course of the past month, but still, nothing has been done to address the state of the transfer market.

It's fair to say that the FUT transfer market has hit a new low and fans of the game mode are becoming frustrated with the lack of action from EA.

We never thought we'd say this but even the two GOATs have now been reduced to mere fodder in Ultimate Team.

A new low

There are now zero, yes ZERO Gold Rare cards that sell for above the 1 million coin mark in FUT 23 after Kylian Mbappe's price significantly dropped following his inclusion in the World Cup Team of the Tournament.

Mbappe aside, every other Gold Rare item now sells for under 100,000 coins.

Remember, we are only three months into the FUT game cycle. We have never seen the transfer market hit rock bottom so early.

One of the significant contributing factors to the transfer market's demise is that Gold Rare cards are so easily accessible through rewards.

It seems you only pack a promo card from Divison Rivals or FUT Champions rewards once in a blue moon.

Players are constantly packing these high-rated Gold Rare items through rewards which flood the market, therefore bringing their prices down.

GOATs = fodder

In what is a really sorry state of affairs, the two greatest players of their generation have been reduced to mere fodder in Ultimate Team.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have consistently been the most sought-after FUT cards for about a decade now.

If you ever had the pleasure of packing one of Messi or Ronaldo, it almost felt like you had completed the game.

However, that special feeling of packing one of the two GOATs no longer exists, thanks to the dire state of the transfer market.

UNWANTED - Not even FUT players want Ronaldo anymore

Lionel Messi's Base version currently sells for 75,000 coins on the PlayStation and Xbox market, whilst Cristiano Ronaldo sells for roughly 60,000 coins.

Back in FIFA 18 and the likes, both Messi and Ronaldo's value would hold at around the 500,000 coin mark throughout the FUT calendar, regardless of promo items released into packs.

If you can't find enjoyment in seeing one of the GOATs walk out onto your screen then what has Ultimate Team become?
