FIFA 23 - EA gives FUT players chance to unlock TOTT Messi, Mbappe or Hernandez for FREE

The 2022 World Cup is officially over and the nation-themed promotional content is beginning to slow down now in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team.

The Winter Wildcard campaign will take centre stage in just a matter of days but before then, we'll get a few more World Cup Team of the Tournament (TOTT) cards in FUT 23.

In honour of the incredible World Cup Final that we witnessed on Sunday evening, EA is offering players the chance to unlock a TOTT Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe or Theo Hernandez item for free in Ultimate Team.

So, find out exactly how you can claim your free World Cup Team of the Tournament player below.

Festive freebies

EA is offering one of three World Cup Team of the Tournament cards on a seven-match loan in Ultimate Team.

These three players are as follows:

• Kylian Mbappe (OVR 94)
• Lionel Messi (OVR 94)
• Theo Hernandez (OVR 89)

Kylian Mbappe is clearly the most meta player of the lot and is currently the third most expensive card in the game, selling for 5.4 million coins on the PlayStation and Xbox market.

For reference, Lionel Messi's TOTT item sells for roughly 3 million coins whilst Theo Hernandez's is priced at around 450,000 coins.

Lionel Messi's Team of the Tournament card is already on offer for free as a loan item, so it makes to go with Kylian Mbappe instead.

Of course, you can keep whichever card you select to help you through future FUT Friendlies for an unlimited number of matches by leaving at least one match on their loan.

How to claim your TOTT Player Pick

Claiming your free Team of the Tournament Player Pick couldn't be a simpler process in FUT 23.

All you need to do is follow these simple steps:

• Launch FIFA 23 and open Ultimate Team.
• Head to the Ultimate Team Store.
• Attempt to open a pack (select a Bronze Pack to be safe).
• At this time, you should be prompted with a message on screen stating that you have unsigned items to attend to.
• You will then be taken to your Team of the Tournament Player Pick.

That's all there is to it - all you need to do now is make your selection from the three players available in order to secure your Team of the Tournament loan player item.
