The World Cup content is beginning to wind down now in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team as the festive season approaches and FUT 23's Xmas promo about to take over.

The Christmas-themed promotional event in Ultimate Team is always one of the most exciting in the FUT calendar and this year will be no different with the Winter Wildcard campaign.

We already knew a Winter Wildcard Swaps program was coming, but it looks like it will arrive a little sooner than we had anticipated!

FIFA 23's Winter Wildcard Swaps will kick off on Monday, 19 December.

The Winter Wildcard Swaps Objectives and Rewards will be released at approximately 1pm ET / 6pm GMT on release day.

The possible rewards will be made available via the Squad Building Challenges menu.

Winter Wildcard promo start date

The Winter Wildcard promo will take over from the 2022 World Cup campaign around the time of the competition's end.

According to the reliable @FutSheriff on Twitter, the Winter Wildcard promo will kick off on Friday, 23 December.

The first set of special items will be released into packs at the usual time of 1pm ET / 6pm GMT on release day.

What to expect

The Winter Wildcard promo will involve EA selecting a group of fan-favourite players and handing them significant one-time upgrades.

In addition to the rating boosts, EA will also be giving selected cards positions changes and new attributes as well as skill move and weak foot upgrades.
