FIFA 24 - Can PS4 and PS5 users play together?

Fans are beginning to look towards the release of FIFA 24, with the FIFA 23 game cycle entering its latter stages now.

Speculation surrounding the new game is rife and previous-gen players want to know whether the next release will cater to their needs as well as next-gen users'.

So, find out whether PlayStation players on different generations of consoles will be able to play together in FIFA 24 below.

Can PS4 and PS5 users play together?

First of all, it's important to understand that FIFA, as we know it will now be named EA Sports FC, after the long-standing relationship between FIFA and EA, broke down.

Nothing has been officially confirmed for EA's new title, EA Sports FC.

We can only speculate on platforms and crossplay options by judging from previous editions.

From what we understand, EA Sports FC will be made available on previous-generation consoles, including the PlayStation 4.

It will be possible for PS4 and PS5 players to play EA Sports FC together, however, it is a little more complicated than that.

There will likely be no crossplay between the PS5 version and the PS4 version of EA Sports FC.

So, if you have a PS5 and you want to play the game with your PS4 friends, you'll need to purchase the PS4 version of the game.

This does not work the other way around - PS4 users cannot play the PS5 version of EA Sports FC on their PlayStation 4.
