FPL GW10 Guide: Top tips & best assets to own ahead of Gameweek 10

The first nine weeks of the 2022/23 Fantasy Premier League season have taught us one thing if nothing else - captain Erling Haaland.

The Norwegian striker stole the headlines once again, netting a hat trick and picking up two assists in the Manchester Derby in GW9.

As we approach the tenth gameweek of the season the Gunners still sit top of the Premier League, one point clear of the title favourites Manchester City and with a tough fixture v Liverpool coming up.

Take a look at the very best assets to bring in before the GW8 deadline in FPL below.

GW10 Fixtures

The FPL Gameweek 10 fixtures are as follows:

Saturday, 8 October

Bournemouth v Leicester

Chelsea v Wolves

Man City v Southampton

Newcastle v Brentford

Brighton v Spurs

Sunday, 9 October

Crystal Palace v Leeds

West Ham v Fulham

Arsenal v Liverpool

Everton v Man Utd

Monday, 10 October

Nott'm Forest v Aston Villa

GW10 Deadline: Saturday, 8 October at 8:30am ET / 1:30pm BST

Goalkeepers

As mentioned in our Gameweek 9 tips, West Ham goalkeeper Lukas Fabianski (£5.0m) could prove to be a brilliant differential as we head into the next two gameweeks.

The Irons' favourable run of fixtures includes a home fixture against Fulham, followed by an away trip to Southampton.

Having secured back-to-back clean sheets in GW8 and GW9, Aston Villa 'keeper Emiliano Martinez (£4.9m) must be considered ahead of GW10.

Steven Gerrard's side will face Nottingham Forest (A), Fulham (H) and Brentford (H) within their next four fixtures.

If you have opted for Liverpool GK Alisson (£5.5m), you may look at making the easy switch to fellow Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson (£5.5m), as we expect Arsenal to score aginst the Reds at the Emirates.

Defenders

FPL managers aren't short of good options when it comes to premium defenders this week, with favourable fixtures coming up for some of the highest-owned defenders in Fantasy.

Joao Cancelo (£7.2m) faces 16th place Southampton at the Etihad, whilst Reece James (£6.0m) and Chelsea will host Wolves in GW10.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have scored just three goals in the league this season, fewer than any other side in the PL.

Newcastle wing-back Kieran Trippier (£5.5m) is a standout option ahead of the deadline yet again as the Magpies play host to Brentford in GW10.

The England international and set-piece specialist offers both the opportunity for clean sheet points as well as attacking returns.

Midfielders

Owning a Manchester City midfield asset is almost essential at this point in Fantasy.

Of course, midfield maestro Kevin de Bruyne (£12.4m) is the biggest threat for City, but Phil Foden (£8.1m) is a great option if you're on a tighter budget.

The England international has accumulated 27 points in the last two fixtures, having scored a brilliant hat trick in the Manchester City derby.

Leicester City talesman James Maddison (£7.9m) is a must-have as we head into GW10, having scored 25 points in his last two matches.

The Foxes will face Bournemouth (A), Crystal Palace (H), Leeds (H) and Wolves (A) in their next four league matches.

After scoring a brilliant hat trick at Anfield in Gameweek 9 we simply must mention Leandro Trossard (£6.7m).

The Belgian winger has produced back-to-back double-digit hauls in Fantasy and has tallied up 48 points over the course of the last five gameweeks.

Forwards

Once again, Man City's goalscoring machine, Erling Haaland (£12.1m) is the standout captaincy option for GW10.

The Norway international striker is amazingly yet to blank in Fantasy, having picked up another three goals, two assists, three bonus and a total of 23 points in GW10.

The 22-year-old will face Southampton at home in Gameweek 10.

Former Arsenal club captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£9.0m) netted his first goal for the Blues in GW9, picking up 9 FPL points in the process.

The Gabonese striker will hope to carry his form into Chelsea's next fixture against struggling Wolves.

Crystal Palace's favourable run of upcoming fixtures makes French forward Odsonne Edouard (£5.3m), who scored last time out, a viable option going forward.

The Eagles come up against Leeds (H), Leicester (A), Wolves (H), Everton (A) and Southampton (H) in their next five games.
