The Dreamhack Open finally returns to Fortnite Season 8 today! Alongside the FNCS, they are the two main parts of the Fortnite competitive scene. If you're interested in this side of Fortnite, you'll be pleased to know that Fortnite's October 2021 Dreamhack Open begins today and we know all about what to expect.
Anyone can take part in the hope of winning prizes, but your skills will be tested. Below is the low down on this month's open.

We've got the full schedule for you down below, but the Fortnite Dreamhack Open for October 2021 begins today!
It will all kick off at 4pm BST or 5pm EST if you're in the US. These are separate regional tournaments.

Dreamhack Open October Schedule
Dreamhack has just confirmed the specific timings for next month's Dreamhack Open - featuring Fortnite - and there's a lot to look forward to. Here's when to expect the EU tournament to take place over the weekend.
- Heat One
- October 7th - 17:00 CEST until 00:00 CEST
- There will be a one-hour break at 20:00 CEST
- October 7th - 17:00 CEST until 00:00 CEST
- Heat Two
- October 7th - 17:00 CEST until 00:00 CEST
- There will be a one-hour break at 20:00 CEST
- October 7th - 17:00 CEST until 00:00 CEST
- Heat Three
- October 8th - 18:00 CEST until 21:00 CEST
- Semi-Finals
- October 9th - 19:00 CEST until 22:00 CEST
- Finals
- October 10th - 16:00 CEST until 21:00 CEST
CEST is one hour ahead of BST, so... Heat One would start at the following times:
- 16:00 BST
- 17:00 CEST
Following on from this, the following stages for NA East will start at the following times:

Season 8 Cash Cups
There will also be three Cash Cup Extras held during Season 8 of Fortnite. The Cash Cup Extras are also hosted by Dreamhack but are still open to anyone who meets the requirements. These will take place on;
- Friday, 1 October
- Wednesday, 2 November
- Wednesday, 1 December
The Cash Cups Extras are only open to the top 132 teams from the previous week's Cash Cup. So you will need to put in a strong performance there to be eligible to enter. The Season 8 schedule for Cash Cups is yet to be released but we expect it soon once the pre-season event has concluded.
Season 7 Recap
The Season 7 Dreamhack Open took place in mid-August and was one of the best tournaments when it comes to participation. EL L2R2 and TNG RISE took home the corn in the NA East event. For Europe, EVOZA STORMYRITE and GAMBIT TOOSE were the winners.
