Fortnite Season 6 Week 9 Challenges Guide

Fortnite's 16.40 patch came earlier this week, leading us into a new round of quests to complete.

The challenges leaked ahead of time, so we've known what to expect for a while, but we've got the full Fortnite Season 6 Week 9 Challenges list below and will help you complete them where we can.

Update - Challenges Updated

It's not a big deal, but the lists of challenges has been updated today, following some changes that were made in the 16.40 update.

One of the challenges has been removed and replaced by something else. We get into exactly what the change is in the Quests list below.

Fortnite Season 6 Week 9 Challenges Out Now

The Week 9 Fortnite challenges leaked a couple of week ago, thanks to iFireMonkey on Twitter, but one of them was changed this week, ahead of official release.

They are out now in game and you can check them out below, alongside some helpful guides.

Season 6 Week 9 Epic Quests

Wild weather warning! Some stormy epic quests ahead for week 9. Check out the list below.

• Activate a Rift by purchasing it from a character (1)
• Hunt a Boar (1)
• Spend 7 seconds within 7 meters of a fleeing chicken (1)
• Gain health in the Storm (1)
• Shockwave Grenade yourself while in the storm (1)
• Survive Storm phases (10)
• Build in the Storm (10)

All Epic Quests grant 24,000 XP, we'll add individual guides to the challenges once they are live.

Season 6 Week 9 Legendary Quests

• Catch Fish (50, 100, 150, 200, 250)

The first task grants you 35,000 XP with the next four granting 24,500 XP

How to Catch Fish

Firstly, in order to catch fish, you'll need a fishing rod. Fishing rods can be found in the same way as weapons. There is also potential to find fishing rods in barrels near bodies of water.

You'll then need to find a place to fish. Head to a Lake, River or the coast and look for circles of white water with fish below, these are the places you can fish.

Once there, simply equip your rod (note, your fishing rod takes up a slot in your inventory, so you'll have one less space for weapons) and hold the action button to choose the angle for your cast, aiming for the centre of the fishing spot.

After your fishing line is in the spot, wait for the fish to bite. This will force the hook underwater, then you simply need to reel it in.
