The announcement came from the official Fortnite Status Twitter account which mentioned that the latest batch of Vibin' quests wasn't available at the time they specified, instead being saved for the 21.20 update.

Fortnite Update Delayed

Fortnite insider and reliable news source ShiinaBR revealed on their Twitter page that the Fortnite 21.20 update had been delayed until Wednesday, 6th July 2022.

The reason we know this reported delay is happening is Fortnite changed the Cash Cup dates from July 6th to July 5th due to the update, confirming that it will not happen on the 5th as we had expected.

Fortnite 21.20 Update Release Date

According to the consistently reliable Fortnite news Twitter account @ShiinaBR, the 21.20 update for Fortnite has already been added to the staging servers ahead of its launch.

When a Fortnite patch is added to the game's staging servers by Epic, it will be added to the game the following week meaning that this latest update will be launching on Wednesday, 6th July 2022. The expected launch time for the 21.20 update will be the usual 1 am PST / 4 am EST / 9 am BST that we've come to expect from Fortnite updates in the past.

These updates are also accompanied by a period of downtime to ensure that all of the changes made to the game are implemented fully. Downtime will start approximately 30 minutes before the update is scheduled to begin, with the game then continuing a period of downtime for between 2-4 hours. During this time, Fortnite cannot be logged onto. Platforms will have their servers restored at different rates also so be sure to keep an eye on which platforms are available again.

What to Expect in The Fortnite 21.20 Update?

Some of the changes we can expect have already started happening during the 21.10 update with changes to the map continuing to occur thanks to the influence of the Reality Tree. Logjam Lumberyard and more recently Butter Barn are now constantly changing with reality-warping effects that change how they look.

We now have confirmation that more map changes are expected to arrive with the 21.20 update thanks to the Fortnite Competitive Twitter page. The new location is set to spawn between Rocky Reels and The Joneses. The tweet seems to suggest that the change may be related to the upcoming Indiana Jones crossover.

The first confirmed feature we currently have to occur during the 21.20 update of Fortnite is the Indiana Jones addition to the Battle Pass, set to launch on Thursday, 7th July 2022 alongside the quests for week 5 of season 3.

Only the first tier of this featured set of tiers has been revealed so far, allowing players to unlock the archaeologist as a cosmetic outfit along with custom harvesting tools, weapon wraps and more.
