What is an FPL Differential?

A 'Differential' in FPL is a player who is owned by a low number of managers.

Players that are picked by 10% or less of teams are generally considered a Differential, however, there is no official definition - the figure can move anywhere from 5% to 15%.

If a Differential scores big in any given gameweek, the FPL managers who own the player will most likely climb the overall leaderboards massively as their 'effective ownership' is very low.

Emiliano Buendia (£6.2m)

The Argentine attacking midfielder, Emiliano Buendia has a goal, an assist and 17 points to his name over the course of the last three Premier League matches.

Aston Villa come up against Leeds, Newcastle and Watford in their next three fixtures and we expect Buendia, owned by just 1.2% of FPL managers, to rival the likes of Philippe Coutinho (£7.0m) in the points scoring.

Dan Burn (£4.4m)

Newcastle's brand-new centre-back, Dan Burn, faces Everton in GW24 who he scored against while playing for former club Brighton in GW21.

Burn offers not only potential for clean sheet points in Newcastle's new-look defence, but also a massive goal threat as Eddie Howe will surely look to hit the 6'5" centre-half from set-pieces.

Pablo Fornals (£6.0m)

West Ham face struggling Watford at home in Gameweek 24. Four of the Spanish midfielder's five goals and two of his three assists have come in home matches at the London Stadium this season.

So, Pablo Fornals, owned by just 1.5% of FPL managers, could be a great differential to get ahead of those in your mini-league who own the likes of Jarrod Bowen (£6.9m).

Anthony Elanga (£4.8m)

Manchester United face bottom of the table Burnley at Turf Moor in GW24. Anthony Elanga, owned by only 0.2% of managers, has started each of the Red Devils' last three Premier League matches, scoring in their last away match.

Man United's attractive fixture also makes Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes viable captaincy options if you can overlook the Red Devil's current poor run of form.
