There are just six gameweeks remaining in the current FPL season which means we are well and truly at the business end of the 2022/23 Fantasy Premier League campaign.

So, now is the time for FPL managers to take it up a notch and leapfrog their mini-league opponents in Fantasy.

Gameweek 33 will see Arsenal take on Manchester City in the most hotly anticipated game of the season - the title decider!

With plenty of PL action coming our way, let's get into the very best players to target ahead of the GW33 midweek matches.

Be aware, the Gameweek 33 deadline is on Tuesday, 25 April at 6pm BST / 1pm ET.

GW33 fixtures

The next round of FPL fixtures is as follows:

Tuesday, 25 April

Wolves v Crystal Palace

Aston Villa v Fulham

Leeds v Leicester

Wednesday, 26 April

Nott'm Forest v Brighton

Chelsea v Brentford

West Ham v Liverpool

Man City v Arsenal

Thursday, 27 April

Everton v Newcastle

Southampton v Bournemouth

Spurs v Man Utd

Defenders

Kieran Trippier (£6.2m) is a must-have for FPL GW33 and Newcastle's trip to Goodison Park where they will face Everton, having put six goals past Spurs in GW32.

You may even like to double up on the Magpies defence, with the likes of Dan Burn (£4.5m) and Fabian Schar (£5.1m) both good options.

Unai Emery's Aston Villa have kept two clean sheets in their last three PL outings and will hope for another in their home fixture against Fulham in GW33.

Tyrone Mings (£4.6m) offers a cheap route into the Villa defence and usually manages to get in the bonus points when the team doesn't concede.

Wolves have also kept two clean sheets in their last three matches and will face Crystal Palace at home in GW33, who failed to score in their last match.

Max Kilman (£4.3m) is a great budget option whilst wing-back Nelson Semedo (£5.0m) provides more of an attacking threat.

Midfielders

Marcus Rashford's (£7.1m) return to action makes him a great option for Manchester United's GW33 trip to the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.

Rashford and co will be looking to exploit a shaky Spurs defence that embarrassingly conceded six goals in their last match against Newcastle.

Brighton's away trip to Nottingham Forest makes their midfield three, Kaoru Mitoma (£5.6m), Solly March (£5.2m) and Alexis Mac Allister (£5.5m) all solid options to go to.

The Seagulls will then have two home fixtures against Wolves and Man United in their Double Gameweek 34 games.

English winger Solly March provides the best value at £5.2m. March has produced attacking returns in four out of the last five matches.

Eberechi Eze (£5.6m) is in fine form at the moment, having registered three goals and one assist in his last four matches for Palace.

The Eagles will face Wolves away from home in FPL GW33.

Forwards

The Premier League's top scorer Erling Haaland (£12.2m) is once again the standout captaincy choice for FPL GW33.

A fully fit Haaland is a frightening prospect for an Arsenal defence that has not kept a clean sheet since Gameweek 27 against Fulham.

Ollie Watkins (£7.7m) will be hoping to continue his run of form against Fulham at home in FPL GW33.

The English striker has blanked just twice over the course of the past 13 gameweeks. Watkins has amassed 97 points in that time, averaging 7.5 points per match since Gameweek 21.

Newcastle strike partners Callum Wilson (£6.9m) and Alexander Isak (£6.8m) are both great options in Fantasy right now.

Isak has netted four goals in his last four matches whilst Wilson has three goals and one assist in that time.
