Genshin Impact 1.6's Midsummer Photo Content has just started

It's finally here, Travelers! Genshin Impact 1.6 is out now and there's a few new in-game events coming over the next few weeks.

Klee is headed to a mysterious new archipelago to find the Dodo King, who is threatening to take the Dodokin away from her, and she needs your help.

That doesn't mean there isn't other stuff to do. Here's everything we know about the upcoming events and activities.

LATEST - New Photo Contest Starts

There's a new Genshin Impact update out and that means it's time to start taking in-game photos! The "Midsummer Island Adventure" Photo Contest has just started.

To participate in the event, all you need to do is post a photo related to the Genshin Impact Islands on Twitter with the hashtag "#GenshinIslands". It needs to reflect the relevant elements of the islands in-game and your Nickname and UID must be visible on the submission.

You have until June 30th at 23:59 UTC+8 to submit your photos and you could be in with a chance of winning the following:

  • Primogems x600
• Runners-Up Prize x18
  • Character Portrait Phone Stand (Random) x1
  • Primogems x300
• Lucky Prize x50

Main Cannon, Make Ready...Fire!

Players will get a chance to ride a boat called the Waverider to help them get around the new archipelago, as well as to complete challenges to earn various rewards such as Primogems, Mora, Hero's Wit, and more.

Using the Waverider, Genshin Impact players will have to sail around to different towers to destroy them, oftentimes disembarking to handle foes on foot before taking to the water once again.

The Waverider will be able to fire bombs and accelerate by charging it with special pickup items.

Echoing Tales

Genshin Impact's 1.6 Echoing Tales event has players trying to find Echoing Conches around the new archipelago to listen to the tales they have to tell.

The new Barbara outfit can be earned by collecting enough Conches and spending them in the Event Item Shop.

During this even Jean's Sea Breeze Dandelion skin will be discounted.

Once the event ends, both skins will be available for around 1680 Genesis Crystals, or the equivalent of $20.

Never-Ending Battle

Sudden Endless Battle will feature swarms of enemies that players need to beat back from the shore.

There is not much other information on this event as of yet, but more will be revealed soon!

Kaboomball Kombat

A sport similar to badminton or tennis where players will need to hit balls back that are served to them and strike the machine that is shooting them.

Legend of the Vagabond Sword

A new Domain that contains new enemies that seem to be from Inazuma.

There are seven different challenges of varying difficulty levels that will earn players currency to use in an Event Shop, similar to other events in the past.

Mechanical Samurai Boss

A new boss encounter featuring a mechanical samurai that players can earn rewards from beating, similar to other bosses encountered in the game.

The origin of this monster is unknown.

Could it be a subordinate of the Dodo-King, or a threat from Inazuma?
