We are just a few days away from the release of Genshin Impact 2.3. The patch full of Geo Characters and the return of familiar faces!
The new patch will bring the action back to the challenging but beautiful Dragonspine. Here's what we know so far about the Genshin Impact 2.3.
Release Date
Genshin Impact 2.3 Shadow Amidst Snowstorms will go live on November 24, 2021, at 11 am server time.
For different regions the update will arrive at the following times locally:
- November 23, 7:00 p.m. PDT
- November 23, 10:00 p.m. EST
- November 23, 3:00 a.m. GMT
The server's maintenance will start around 6:00 am and it will take around five hours. Players will receive a compensation of 300 Primogems.
Preload Genshin Impact 2.3
Players can start pre-loading Genshin Impact 2.3 from Sunday, November 21, 2021.
Based on previous updates, the new update file size will be around 3.85Gb for Android and IOS and around 6.0Gb for PC players.
Unfortunately, there is no pre-load option for Genshin Impact players on Playstation.
Two Banners: Albedo and Eula Rerun
Eula's Born of Ocean Swell and Albedo's Secretum Secretorum banners will also go live on November 24, 2021.
The latest leaks confirmed that the two banners feature the same 4-star characters.
The chances of pulling the following 4-star characters will be increased:
- Bennet - Pyro (Sword)
- Noelle - Geo (Claymore)
- Rosaria - Cryo (Polearm)
Firsts weapon Banner
The first Weapon Banner for Genshin Impact 2.3 will be released on November 24, as well. This includes the re-run of two 5-star weapons.

The Weapon banner will include the following 4-star weapons:
- Dragon's Bane (Polearm)
- Sacrificial Greatsword (Claymore)
- Wine and Song (Catalyst)
- Lion's Roar (Sword)
- Alley Hunter (Bow)
Second Banner
The second banner for the 2.3 updates will arrive in Genshin Impact around December 14, 2021.
The Banner will introduce two new characters:
- Gorou is a general of the Sangonomiya troops. Part of the resistance that faces against the Vision Hunt Decree.
- Arataki Itto is the First and Greatest Head of the Arataki Gang, a 5-star character with a Geo vision that wields a Claymore.
New Events
These are the new events coming for Genshin Impact 2.3
- Hangout Events IV Series
- Beidou and Gorou will have new Hangout Events in Genshin Impact 2.3, allowing players to know these characters more personally.
- Rewards: 120 Primogems, 30 Hero's Wit, Ascension Material.
- Beastly Rift
- Players will battle the new boss, Golden Wolflord, The king of the Rifthounds.
- Travelers will discover the origin of the Rifthound Creatures.
- Rewards: Riftborn Regalia and Geo Characters Level-up Materials.
- Misty Dungeon: Realm of Light
- Each dungeon will have a set of available Trial characters that players can use even if they don't own them.
- Each Trial will focus on an elemental reaction: Thundershock, Freezing, Windswept, Desirous, Amplifying, Transformative, Lightbringer.
- Rewards: Primogems, Hero's With, and Ascencion Materials
- Marvelous Merchandise
- Liben's an NPC will appear in different locations offering a Box of Marvels with rewards in exchange for World Materials.
- Marvelous Merchandise is a recurring event. It is the third time Liben has been part of Genshin Impact.
- Rewards: Primogems, Hero's With, and Ascencion Materials
- Shadows Amidst Snowstorms
- Players will participate in training sessions in this new adventure event, where players will fight mob camps and practice parkour.
- In the final stage, players will battle Fel, an enhanced colossal Whopperflower boss.
- Rewards: Cinnabar Spindle 4-star Sword, Components for Sereniea Pot Snowmen
- Bantan Sango Case Files: The Warrior Dog
- In this event, players will rescue wild creatures catching them with the Ubiquity-Net gadget and bringing them to safety.
- Rewards: Omni Ubiquity Net, Primogems, Weapon Ascencion Materials.
- Energy Amplifier Event
- This event is the continuation of the Genshin Impact 1.5 event of the same name.
- Players have to collect mutation stone fragments called: Fractured Fruit.
- After the end of each act, a Deceitful Domain will unlock. Players can select the difficulty and conditions of each domain.
- Rewards: Primogems, Hero's With, and Ascencion Materials
New Artifacts
Genshin Impact will have two new artifacts sets and a new domain on Serai Island.
- Husk of Opulent Dreams:
- 2 pieces passive: DEF +30%
- 4 pieces passive: The on-field character's Geo damage grants +6% DEF and +6 Geo damage, up to one stack every 0.3s for max 4 stacks.
- Geo DMG off-field gained one stack every 3s. The stacks get lost after 6s of no more stacks accumulation.
- Ocean Hued Clam
- 2 pieces passive: Healing Bonus 15%
- 4 pieces passive: Healing Effect Generates a Healing Bubble, once every 3.5s. Healing Bubbles will accumulate Stacked Healing (SH) as characters get healed.
- Healing Bubbles burst after 3s, healing nearby characters (50% of SH), and damaging nearby enemies (90% of SH)
