Despite some technical problems, the Genshin Impact 2.8 Livestream was full of surprises.

It seems we will have a new update full of exciting events, with the return of fan-favorite characters.

Kazuha, Klee, and Yomiya will make company in the banners for the new Anemo character Heizou. We also see Sumeru for the first time.

Without further ado, here's everything you need to know about the Version 2.8 Livestream.

Genshin Impact 2.8 Special Program

Genshin Impact 2.8 Special Program went live on July 2, 2022, at 8 pm server time (Chinese Standard Time).

In the English Version, the hosts were the voice actors of Aether, Kazuha Fischl, and OZ's Fischl's companion.

Character and Weapon Banners

Genshin Impact 2.8 is full of rerun banners. The characters making a return are Kazuha, Yoimiya, and Klee.

First Phase Banners

• Kazuha and Klee are the 5-star featured in the first half of Genshin Impact 2.8.
  • In the same banner, we have the debut of Heizou the last new character before Sumeru.
• The first weapon banner, will feature the Freedom Sworn Sword and the Catalyst Lost Prayer to the Sacred Wings.

Second Phase Banners

• For the second half of version 2.8, we will have the rerun of Yoimiya.
• The weapon banner will bring back the Bow Thundering Pulse. The second 5-star weapon is not confirmed yet.

Events and Stories

• Story Quests:
  • Kazuha Story: Acer Palmatum Chapter 1
  • Hangout Series VII. Heizou Hangout: Trap' Em by Storm
• Main Event Summertime Odyssey:
  • Kazuha, Mona, Xinyan, and Fischl will be special guests at the main event.
  • The GAA have secret connections with the characters, producing a unique domain based on their personality.
  • By completing challenges, travelers will obtain the currency Iridescent Flotsam.
  • Iridescent Flotsam can be exchanged in the event store for rewards, including the 4-star character Fischl.
• Reminiscent Regime
  • To participate in this event, players need to enter the cooperative mode.
  • Reminiscent Regimes is divided into three game modes.
    • Convoy: Protect the vessel until it reaches its destination and collect coins to recharge the energy of the flying balloon.
    • Raid: Navigate in the Waverider and board floating platforms to battle enemies.
    • In Descent: Travelers start on very high platforms. They must descend to the surface by battling their way down.
• Resonant Visions
  • Rerun event from the first time we visit the Golden Apple Archipelago.
  • The players need to collect Phantasmal Conchs. These conchs will echo stories from the past.
  • Collecting enough Phantasmal Conchs will grant players with the new Fischl Skin: Ein Immernachtstraum.

• Hidden Strife
  • Combat challenge that will feature Diluc and the Dawn Winery.
  • Players will try the new Diluc Skin: Red Dead of Knight, the first 5-star Alternative Outfit.
  • Diluc's Red Dead of Night shows him with a relaxed ponytail and a modern new jacket. In addition, the skin will have new ability effects and idle animation.
  • The skin is not available in the event. Instead, players need to purchase it from the shop.
• Evermotion Mechanical Painting
  • We need to collect components and fix the gear of mechanical paintings.
  • Players will win the Ever Motion Mechanical Painting Furniture for the Serenitea Pot

Sumeru Trailer

The Genshin Impact 2.8 Special Program finished with the first trailer from Sumeru, the Dendro nation.

In the video, we can hear a voice-over from a young girl meeting the traveler for the first time, possibly Collei or Dori.

Sumeru is full of vegetation and palaces that seem to come from stories of The Arabian Nights tale.

Additionally, we confirm the identity of the Dendro Archon as a very young girl by looking at the Dendro Statue of the Seven.
