What Is The Best Barbara Build In Genshin Impact?

Barbara is the deaconess of the Church of Favonius, and also an "idol" singer, becoming one after hearing about them from Alice.

The younger sister of Acting Grand Master Jean, Barbara is a freely available character, a hydro catalyst, and the first healer many players obtain for their party.

While Barbara may be the butt of many jokes when it comes to how useful she is, she can be an extreamly helpful character for players who build and play her right.

Barbara Best Artifacts

Barbara is a healer, and really not much else.

While being a Hydro Catalyst may come in handy early on in the game, she really is not intended for DMG output.

That is not to say she cannot do that, just that other characters do it better.

A full Maiden Beloved set best compliments Barbara's abilities:

• 2 Piece - Character Healing Effectiveness +15%
• 4 Piece - Using an Elemental Skill or Burst increases healing received by all party members by 20% for 10s.

Barbara Best Weapons

The best catalyst to use with Barbara is the 4-Star Prototype Amber, formerly known as the Prototype Malice.

Easily obtained by crafting, the Prototype Amber has the following stats are Level 1:

• Base ATK: 42
• Secondary Stat Type: HP
• Secondary Stat: 9%
• Ability: Gilding - Using an Elemental Burst regenerates 4 Energy every 2s for 6s. All party members will regenerate 4% HP every 2s for this duration.

When refined to Level 5, Gilding regenerates 6 Energy every 2s for 6s and all party members will regenerate 6% HP every 2s for this duration.

At Level 90, the Skyward Blade's stats are as follows:

• Base ATK: 510
• Secondary Stat Type: HP
• Secondary Stat: 41.3%

An alternative to the Prototype Amber is the 3-Star Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers, which has the following stats at Level 1:

• Base ATK: 39
• Secondary Stat Type: HP
• Secondary Stat: 7.7%
• Ability: Legacy - When switching characters, the new character taking the field has their ATK increased by 24% for 10s. This effect can only occur once every 20s.

When refined to Level 5, Legacy bumps the ATK increase from 24% to 48%, making it wise for players to swap to Barbara and back to their Main DPS every 20 seconds to take advantage of this buff.

At Level 90, the Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers has the following stats:

• Base ATK: 401
• Secondary Stat Type: HP
• Secondary Stat: 36.2%

This catalyst is only available through Genshin Impact's Wish system, making the Prototype Amber a much better choice, as it is an overall better weapon, and easier to obtain and refine.

Barbara Best Teammates

Barbara is going to be a support for whichever party includes her as a character.

A great 5-Star party to include Barbara includes Keqing, Zhongli, and Fischl.

In this party, Keqing will be the Main DPS with Zhongli providing defensive support.

Fischl is used mainly for Oz, while Barbara heals.

For players who do not have any 5-Star characters, try Barbara with the Anemo Traveler, Kaeya, and Xiangling.

This party relies on Barbara for healing, but also applying Wet to enemies for Kaeya and Xiangling to combo off of.

The Traveler is there to spread Wet out across multiple enemies to make the combos more effective.

Are Her Constellations Good?

• Gleeful Songs - Constellation Level 1
  • Barbara regenerates 1 Energy every 10s.
• Vitality Burst - Constellation Level 2
  • Decreases the CD of Let the Show Begin by 15%.
  • During the ability's duration, the current character gains 15% Hydro DMG Bonus.
• Star of Tomorrow - Constellation Level 3
  • Increases the Level of Shining Miracle by 3.
  • Maximum upgrade level is 15.
• Attentiveness be My Power - Constellation Level 4
  • Every enemy hit by Barbara's Charged Attack regenerates 1 Energy for her. A maximum of 5 energy can be regenerated in this manner with any one Charged Attack.
• The Purest Companionship - Constellation Level 5
  • Increase the Level of Let the Show Begin by 3.
  • Maximum upgrade level is 15.
• Dedicating Everything to You - Constellation Level 6
  • When Barbara is not on the field, and the character in play falls:
    • Automatically revives this character.
  • Fully regenerates this character's HP by 100%.
    This effect can only occur once every 15 mins.

Barbara's Constellations are helpful, but really do not amount to much until players get to her C6 ability.

Thankfully, it is pretty easy to get Barbara to C6 over the course of time playing Genshin Impact.

The fact that miHoYo seems to toss her at players frequently for free is a boon to players who do not have healers such as Diona, Jean, Qiqi, or Bennett available.

Her biggest downside is that her Elemental Skill applies Wet to party members while healing them, opening them wide up to be frozen by any Cryo enemies.

A small price to pay to regain valuable HP.

Barbara's Summer Sparkle Outfit

Freely available during Genshin Impact 1.6, players can earn Barbara's Summer Sparkle outfit by finding 24 Echoing Conches in the Midsummer Island Adventure.

The outfit allows Genshin Impact players to change Barbara's look to a more summery theme, complete with a yellow ducky purse and sailor motif.

Once Genshin Impact 1.7 arrives, the Summer Sparkle outfit for Barbara will no longer be free, costing players $20 worth of Genesis Crystals to purchase.
