Who is Nilou?
Nilou is a young follower of the Lesser Lord Kusanali (Nahida). She challenges the Akademiya by keeping traditions and artistic expressions alive.
Strengths
- Nilou's abilities made her a solid DPS or Sub DPS that will benefit from the Dendro Seeds.
- With constellation 2, Nilou's support capabilities are pretty strong.
- Nilou is one of the best characters for Hyperbloom team compositions.
Weakness
- Nilou's full potential is only reached with teams with a Dendro Character.
- She is exposed to self-harm as Nilou fights with many Dendro Core Explosions. Therefore a healer is needed in her team.
Best Weapons for Nilou
The BiS sword for Nilou is her signature weapon, the Key of Khaj-Nisu. The new 5-start sword is designed to increase Nilou's DMG output and Sub-DPS viability.

This effect can be triggered once every 0.5s and can be triggered even if said character is not on the field. When you possess 2 Sigils of Rebellion, all of them will be consumed and all nearby party members will obtain "Millennial Movement: Song of Resistance" for 12s. "Millennial Movement: Song of Resistance" increases Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attack DMG by 32% and increases ATK by 40%. Once this effect is triggered, you will not gain Sigils of Rebellion for 20s. |
Key of Khaj-Nisu
- The 5-star sword will increase up to 30% of Nilou DMG output compared to any other weapon.
- Nilou's skills scale with HP and the weapon increase her max Heath as much as having an extra Artifact Set.
Freedom Sworn
- Elemental Mastery is the most crucial stat in Dendro Teams; therefore, weapons with this stat are an excellent alternative.
- But this is also a Gacha System Weapon that most players don't have.
Xiphos' Moonlight & Sapwood Blade
- Both new Genshin Impact Sumeru 4-star weapons will be pretty decent for Nilou, especially in Bloom Teams.
Iron Sting
- If you have problems obtaining any of those weapons, the 3-star Iron Sting is accessible and will still be an excellent choice.

Tenacity of Millelith
The best artifacts for Nilou are those which increase her Max HP. Therefore two pieces of the set of Tenacity seem like a must.
For the remaining piece, Nilou's is very flexible, and you can pick a set that compensates for the stats of your artifacts.
- Gilded Dreams (EM), Emblem of Severed Fate (ER), Wanderer's Troupe (EM).
Artifact Stats
The name of the game is obtaining the highest HP possible. Nilou's DMG from the explosion of Dendro Seeds scales on HP. Without forgetting to get some Elemental Mastery & Energy Recharge.
Players can build her as a Damage Dealer with Crit. Rate & Crit. DMG, but Nilou becomes just a decent DPS with better options in the Genshin Impact roster.

It seems Genshin Impact is releasing characters that are specialists in a particular reaction. Tighnari is the best in Spread, and Cyno in Aggravate.
Nilou is no different. She is the best for Hyperbloom teams, with impressive DMG output and smooth rotations.
Therefore Nilou needs a Dendro Character and dedicated healer, as the self-damage from Seeds Explosions by Bloom is considerable.
Hyperbloom Teams
Nilou's skills allow her to speed the time and increase the damage of Dendro Seeds' explosions. The more seeds, the highest the damage.
We think Kokomi is Nilou's most important Ally, as she will heal and increase the production of Seeds in the field.
Main DPS
- Nilou can work by producing a DMG outfield, but luckily for her fans, she also works when she spends a lot of time in combat.
Sub-DPS
- As we mentioned, Kokomi seems the ideal partner. Even during her elemental burst, she will continue healing and exploiting seeds.
- For now, Nillou will benefit from having the two Dendro Supports on her team. However, upcoming Dendro characters like Nahida can likely do the job of Collei and the Traveler combined.
Elemental Enabler
- Collei is necessary for this team to produce Dendro Cores that will react with the Hydrop Element generating Bloom.
Support
- Bringing the Dendro Traveler as well will provide a seamless Dendro Application.
Nilou in other teams
If you like Nilou's character design but want to use her in teams that are not Dendro, she will still work well. Especially in Vape Teams and Teaser Comps.
But characters like Ayato, Xingqiu & Childe are stronger for these teams.
