Genshin Impact's Onikabutos is based on the rhinoceros beetle, a symbol in Modern Japanese culture. The Samurai masks resemble the horn of these insects.

What is Onikabuto?

A strange beetle that inhabits areas rich with Electro energy. They can be found lounging in rocks and trees.

Despite Onikabutos being living beings, they always look inert. Therefore, they will not flee even if the tree is vigorously shaken or if there are explosions nearby.

Onikabuto locations

The Onikabuto is an Inazuma Specialty. Travellers can look for them in areas with concentrated Electro Energy like the Sacred Sakura Tree and the Mikage Furnace.

There are Onikabutos in all regions of Inazuma. These are the best locations:

• The road from the Kamisato State to the Narukami Shrine
• Near the Sacred Sakura Tree and the cave in Mt. Yogou.
• The mines in Mikage Furnace in Tatarasuna.
• In Amakumo Peak in Seria Island.

There are a total of 84 Onikabutos in the wild. They respawn every 48 hrs, and it is impossible to buy or farm Onikabutos.

Note: Onikabuto on trees must be reached; hitting the tree will not make it fall.

What to use Onikabuto on

Onikabutos are a reasonably new World Item. Currently, they are used as material to craft the following Gadget:

• Electro Treasure Compass, which is used to locate Treasure Chest in Inazuma. (x30 Onikabuto)

Onikabutos are not part of any Weapon Enhancement or Meal Recipe by the time this note was written.

Arataki Itto Ascencion Material

We recommend starting to harvest Onikabutos. They are ascension material for the 5-star Geo Character, Arataki Itto.

With new characters release constantly, it is most likely Onikabuto will have other uses in upcoming updates.
