As Genshin Impact players explore the Golden Apple Archipeligo, they may have come across a funny-looking material known as a Sea Ganoderma.
Resembling wood ear mushroom, these Sea Ganoderma appear to have no use in the game so far.
While players cannot use them yet, they should be farming these little sea mushrooms like crazy if they plan on pulling for Kazuha during the second Genshin Impact 1.6 Event Banner.
Genshin Impact Sea Ganoderma Locations
Sea Ganoderma is currently a useless material in Genshin Impact but will be used as an Ascension Material for Kazuha, the 5-Star Anemo swordsman coming in the latter half of Genshin Impact 1.6.
Found in the shallows near beaches, they are quite plentiful in the Golden Apple Archipeligo, currently the only location in Genshin Impact where players can find and farm them.
Available to find as of Act II of the Midsummer Island Adventure, there are around 57 Sea Ganoderma for players to harvest, each respawning every two days.
Kazuha Ascension Materials
Genshin Impact players will need a total of 168 Sea Ganoderma as part of Kazuha's ascension to Level 90.
That means Genshin Impact players will need to take at least six days to collect all the Sea Ganoderma needed for him (3 days of actual collecting.)
What Happens When The Archipelago Goes Away?
miHoYo has stated that the Golden Apple Archipeligo will only be available for Genshin Impact 1.6, going away once 1.7 launches with the possibility of coming back for events in the future.
What does this mean for collecting Sea Ganoderma?
Do not fear.
Sea Ganoderma will be available to collect from Inazuma and its surrounding islands, so players will still be able to ascend Kazuha, as well as use the material for other crafting with additional game updates.
