What is the best Genshin Impact Sucrose build?

The assistant of Albedo and a respectable alchemist of her own right, Sucrose is an underrated powerhouse that’s often slept on due to her playstyle.

She’s often nicknamed the “budget Venti” by Genshin Impact players because of her Anemo affiliation and her aptitude for constantly applying Swirl reactions, and it’s not hard to see why so with her ability to crowd control and deal massive damage through elemental reactions.

Her rarity as a 4-star permanent character pays dividends in making her more valuable, and because she can appear at any time during your Wishes, she has a solid Constellation kit that boosts her capability on the field.

Sucrose Best Artifacts

Because she uses a Catalyst as her weapon of choice, all of Sucrose’s basic attacks are charged with Anemo damage instead of physical. Even her level up bonus stat gives her Anemo damage for a bonus. Swirl reaction damage is the name of the game with her; thus, a good option would be to run a full set of Viridescent Venerer artifacts to boost her overall Anemo damage.

This also indirectly increases the Swirl damage you can inflict when Pyro, Cryo, Hydro or Electro elements get absorbed by her abilities.

Another artifact set worth looking at is a split set between Viridescent Venerer and Wandering Troupe, as the latter provides an increase in Elemental Mastery, which is key for making reactions stronger. Gladiator can also be a good substitute if you’re looking for a flat percent damage increase across the board, and not just focusing on the swirl-infused reactions.

Your primary stat increases in the artifacts should revolve include any of the following:

• ATK%
• Elemental Mastery
• Energy Recharge
• Anemo DMG Bonus
• CRIT Rate

Sucrose Best Weapons

Skyward Atlas not only boosts her attack tremendously, its passive has another bonus of increasing Elemental damage that gets better in refinement.

If you got Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds instead, it works just as well, but its secondary stat focuses on CRIT rate instead and a movement speed boost makes dodging and side-stepping a lot better.

Both are 5-star weapons though, so count your blessings if you get even one of them from your Wishes.

For 4-star weapons, as soon as you get Sacrificial Fragments, give it to Sucrose immediately.

This is this author's personal pick to be Sucrose’s best weapon, especially if you have her first Constellation unlocked that grants an additional charge of her Elemental Skill, Astable Anemohypostasis Creation 6308.

Both charges have separate cooldowns, so if you trigger this weapon’s passive of immediately recharging the cooldown, you can use it up to three times in quick succession if you’re lucky.

The Widsith and Solar Pearl are good substitutes if you happen to get them, as both of their passives are tailored to increase the power of Swirl reactions from her skills.

For a more budget-friendly option, you can also try the Amber Catalyst as it increases Elemental damage while doing normal attacks.

Sucrose Best Teammates

Her true power lies with having allies that can make use of her Anemo abilities and create constant elemental reactions as much as possible. With that in mind, any DPS character that goes into Pyro, Hydro, Electro and Cryo are good teammates for Sucrose to have.

Fischl comes into mind due to her ability to aim where Oz will land on her skill. Xiangling can let Guoba breathe fire right into the Anemohypostasis.

Xinqiu can use his Guhua-style to create a Hydro swirl that should be the bane of pyro enemies.

Anyone with those four elements will work, really; Sucrose is just that flexible.

If you’re feeling breezy, run a double Anemo comp with other Anemo characters that you might have for the extra cooldown reduction on your Burst. Xiao appreciates immobilizing the enemies as he goes to town with repeated plunge attacks, the Anemo Traveler can continue the crowd control swirling, and Jean can follow up with her knockback skill.

Of course, the so-called “budget Venti” is even better when paired with the actual Venti, which can make small enemies completely immobile when the abilities are chained one after the other.

Are Sucrose Constellations Good?

As Sucrose is a 4-star permanent character, it’s only a matter of time before Sucrose will hit all six of her Constellations—depending on how much you roll the gacha, that is.

To really give her a proper start, however, you might want to aim for at least her first Constellation, Clustered Vacuum Field first.

That second charge of her Anemohypostasis skill is going to make things easier for her to control the battlefield and set up the Swirl reactions more frequently.

She also has another power spike when you unlock her fourth Constellation, Alchemania, as it allows you to reduce the timer of her skill by a random number of seconds every seventh normal or charged attack.

Combined with the Sacrifical Fragments, and its uptime might be ludicrous enough to rival Venti’s short cooldowns.

All in all, she’s a great character that gets better the more she randomly appears on some of your rolls. She might be soft-spoken, but her scientific approach in combat lets her show the fruits of her labor and it aims to exceed all expectations.
