All the new items in Genshin Impact following the version 1.6 update

The next major update for Genshin Impact from miHoYo, version 1.6, is out right now and we have everything you need to know about all the new items coming to the game.

LATEST - Version 1.6 Out Now

The next major update for Genshin Impact is out right now and miHoYo has smashed it again with the version 1.6 update.

The "Midsummer Island Adventure" has started and there's a Photo Contest to take part in too! You can win free Primogems, so it's well worth checking out if you have a few moments spare.

However, even if you don't fancy checking that out... There's a lot to do now. Klee needs your help in dealing with the Dodo King on the mysterious new archipelago. There's also all the new weapons to grind for, of course!

New Weapons Are Coming

We don't know too much about the new weapons just yet, as we're still waiting on the English-language version of miHoYo's Special Announcement stream, but we do know that there's going to be at least four new weapons added to the game.

The tweet below is translated as follows...

" [Ver.1.6 New Weapon Introduction] New to be implemented from Ver.1.6 ★ Five,★ Introducing 4 weapons!"

It looks like there's going to be a new five-star sword to unlock (or a two-handed Claymore) and a new bow.

In addition to those new weapons, there's also going to be a new themed event where you can unlock new weapons such as "The Story of Houki and Dodoko." We don't know what weapon type this is just yet, but it could be the name of the sword in the above imagery.

" By participating in the event ★ You can acquire 4 weapons such as "The Story of Houki and Dodoko"."

Exclusive Event Items Confirmed

In addition to the new weapons, there's going to be some new event-limited items you'll be able to earn throughout the next few weeks.

The "Bonbon Magic Ball Battle" is one of those events. From this, you can get Primogems, Mora, Rough Stones, Business Card decorations and more!

The tweet below is translated as follows:

" [New event] In Ver.1.6, the event "Bonbon Magic Ball Battle" will be held!
You can get rewards such as rough stones and limited business card decorations by participating in the event."

Rough Stones will also be featured in the "Endless Battle" event and the "Kazerai no Kento Kitan" event, as seen below:

Character Skins Finally Added To Genshin

On top of all this, miHoYo has finally added the Character Skins feature to Genshin Impact! These costumes are going to offer you a new way to customise your Genshin Impact party and it feels like one of those features that's been long-overdue in-game.

We don't know the full extent of what Character Costumes are coming to Genshin Impact in version 1.6, but we do have a couple of teasers to talk about.

Firstly, Jean is getting a summery outfit entitled "A dream of a sea breeze". You can check it out in the tweet below:

" A dream of a sea breeze" will be on sale at the in-game shop indefinitely. The price during the limited-time sale will be 1350 pieces of Sosei Crystal, and after the limited-time sale, the selling price will return to 1680 pieces of Sosei Crystal."

In addition to this, Barbara is also getting a similar-styled outfit called "Summertime Sparkle". This will be available for free during the "Narrative of Afterglow" story event that's due to arrive in Genshin Impact version 1.6.

Following the end of version 1.6, the skin will be sold in the in-game shop for 1680 Sosei Crystals.

We're under the impression that Sosei Crystals are essentially Primogems, however, we'll need to wait for the English-language version of the stream to confirm this.
