The long-awaited release of EA Sports PGA Tour is nearly over, but not before another short delay to the launch of the new game.

EA have not included a cover athlete, with the Road to the Masters and the famous Augusta course taking centre stage.

So, read on to check out what the EA Sports PGA Tour cover looks like and find out what golfers will grace the title.

After much speculation about who would be the cover athlete for EA Sports PGA Tour, the company have decided not to opt for one of the pros included in their title.

Instead, one of the biggest 'characters' in the game is on full display, with the Augusta course shown off!

SHOWING OFF - Augusta takes pride of place on the EA Sports PGA Tour cover

This makes sense, as it is one of the most distinctive and famous courses in the world.

It also highlights that the courses are the focus of the title, with every effort put into making them as realistic and true to life as possible!

Cover Athlete Discussion

In previous EA golf titles, we have seen both Tiger Woods and Rory McIlory as the cover athlete with both at the absolute peak of their powers at the time.

Woods was a definite no for inclusion in EA Sports PGA Tour as he is the cover athlete of PGA 2K23 and is an exclusive athlete to that franchise.

McIlroy could have been an ideal contender given his current form, but there was no sign of the Northern Irishman in the build-up to launch, and now we know why!

Scottie Scheffler and Jon Rahm are the two other PGA Tour players up the top of the rankings currently, and with the American featuring in the game, he could have been a great choice.

Jordan Spieth is another US star that could have featured, and only the PGA Championship eludes Spieth from winning all four Majors, although he placed an agonizing 2nd back in 2015.

Spieth's success and popularity make him an obvious candidate for a future cover athlete, and a PGA Championship win would add him to an exclusive list of players to win the full house.

There are several high-profile golfers that have made the switch to LIV Golf, effectively ending their chance of being included in the game, let alone as a future cover athlete.

This includes 2022 Open Champion Cam Smith, former world number one Dustin Johnson, and long-hitter Bryson DeChambeau.

Confirmed Roster

We are still waiting to see if the full EA Sports PGA Tour roster has been revealed, but we do know of some players that are included in the game.

Justin Spieth was featured heavily in early content releases, so we knew he was involved.
