Halo Infinite Point of No Return: When are these key moments in campaign?

Halo Infinite's campaign is a wonderful return to fantastic form for the series and the new open-ended levels available on the Zeta Halo are a treasure trove for fans of exploration and Grunt-killing. If you're looking to 100% the game, though, you'll need to be aware of the "Point of No Return" moments in Halo Infinite.

We have everything you need to know about what this means and when these moments appear in-game.

What is a "Point of No Return" moment?

In Halo Infinite - and single-player games in general - a "Point of No Return" moment is a moment in the story where you can no longer go back and continue exploration.

In open-world games, this is usually a moment that pops up before the final mission with a warning. In a more linear single-player experience, this can happen at any time and usually reflects a change in location or a change in the state of the world around you following a major event.

Halo Infinite's open-ended level design and secondary objectives would suggest that any "Point of No Return" moments it does have are few and far between. However, there are some you should be keeping an eye on...

When do they appear in Halo Infinite?

Halo Infinite lacks an interesting feature that makes "Point of No Return" moments quite frequent - there are no Mission Replay options in Halo Infinite.

This means that if you're looking for collectables during one of the several main missions, you need to find them during that mission. There's no going back to get your hands on these if you missed some. This is a feature that's being worked on, but right now it isn't available.

HUGE WORLD - There's a lot to look forward to out there on Zeta Halo

There's also a "Point of No Return" moment when you start the Nexus mission - this will lock access to the open world for a little while and you can only access the content in this mission during this mission. You will be returned to the open-world once you've finished this, though - fear not.

We're also under the impression that the opening sections of Halo Infinite's story are locked once you've entered the open world of Zeta Halo - however, this will be an issue solved by adding Mission Replay options. Keep an eye on the official social media accounts for more information.
