Mihael “Mikyx” Mehle is one of the best-known European support players. Having won MSI with G2 Esports in 2019, and making several other international appearances, he's been a mainstay of the LEC.

After a year of mixed success on Excel, Mikyx is returning to G2 Esports, according to reports from LEC Wooloo on Twitter. Here's everything you need to know about the move.

Mikyx Returns to G2 Esports

G2 Esports has also had a year of mixed success. Despite their win in LEC Spring, their summer was rockier and ended with a disappointing Worlds finish. This still was an improvement on 2021, but the organisation has failed to find its usual level of dominance since 2020.

Now though, more big changes are afoot, after the departure of their CEO, Carlos 'Ocelote' Rodriguez, and now two of their players in Jankos and Flakked. Only Caps remain from the glory days of 2019/20.

It seems that Targamas may also be leaving if these rumors are to be believed. This would mark the departure of 2/3 of the new talent G2 recruited for the 2022 season.

G2 Esports LEC 2023 Roster

G2 Esports will field a very different roster for the 2023 season. A huge part of that is also the reason for Mikyx's return. Hans Sama will return to EU after a disappointing year on TL and fill the ADC role for G2.

Mikyx and Hans played together for a year in 2018 on Misfits, and while the team floundered at times, the bot lane duo was consistently solid.

While Caps and BrokenBlade seem to be remaining, for now, the Jungle Role for G2 remains open. With a number of free agents this offseason, only time will tell who will fill the position.
