League of Legends MSI has had its issues over the years, and faced a great deal of criticism from fans. It often fails to live up to the hype, as the format is in need of some tweaks, and the winner often faces more downside than up, as it can heavily impact their summer split.

With changes rumoured to be coming to this though, we have good reason to believe that MSI 2023 will be hosted in London, England. Here's everything we know so far about the tournament, and what to expect.

League of Legends MSI 2023 Location

While nothing is official just yet, sources of Esports News UK have reported that MSI 2023 will likely be held in London. This would be the first time a League of Legends international has come to the UK since Worlds 2015 in Europe, when Wembley hosted the quarter-finals.

This would be a curious move from Riot, who recently announced that the NLC would now be a non-accredited ERL. This effectively means that the UK lolesports league was defunded heavily, so deciding to invest in a UK MSI seems like somewhat of a U-turn.

If the rumours are true, MSI would be hosted at Wembley once again, which is great news for fans, and arguably, players. Xpeke famously praised the UK crowd from League of Legends Worlds 2015 as one of the liveliest, and there is no danger that they've quietened down since.

MSI 2023 Start Date

We're a little early for a confirmed MSI start date just yet, but the League of Legends Mid-Season international usually begins around the beginning of May. As usual, it will likely feature the first seed from all major and minor regions, including the winner of the new LEC Spring split.

MSI usually lasts around three weeks, but with rumours of format changes on the horizon, this could be extended for 2023. One thing we know for sure is that the tournament would do wonders for the UK Esports scene, just as League of Legends Worlds did in 2015.
