*LATEST* Riot Games Cyber Attack Means a Patch Delay


Riot Games is one of the biggest gaming companies out there with huge titles such as League of Legends and Valorant.

The company is a prime target for cyber-attacks and this happened recently on the week of January 16, 2023.

Riot revealed this in a Twitter post which addressed most fans' concerns about this attack.

But, the company are usually quick to deal with security breaches and is sure to update us about it soon.

The hacker has been in discussion with a cyber-attack group and discussed how they have stolen the code.

League of Legends source code has also been put up for auction with bids starting at 1 million.

Riot Games Announce Cyber-Attack on Twitter

Riot Games are keeping the community updated via a Twitter post which also explained the situation.

Titled a 'social engineering attack' it has left fans worried about account or bank safety.

However, the post reassured everyone that their accounts are safe and that the attack has not let any personal information be leaked.

Discussion on the post suggested that this was all left a little bit vague.

But, as this was posted in the early stages of the investigation, perhaps Riot did not know exactly what has happened.

They also reassured everybody that any future updates will be posted on the same account to keep the players informed.

How Will this Attack Affect the Community?

So far, the effects on the community seem minimal and not much to complain about.
